My 2018 4K stick hasn't been updated in years but it never could play FEL, blank screen.
The 2021 4K Max behaves the same, with latest firmware.

It could be really noticiable the loss of quality from the reduced bitrate? I prefer to loose the extra channels if the lack of quality is noticiable.

@RESET_9999 is there any way to use your script and the tools provided to convert TrueHD Atmos -> EAC3 Atmos? It seems impossible to change formats and keep the Atmos data with these tools? I've tried ...

Well, then, if a mkv file uses CMv4.0, a device that only supports CMv2.9 couldn't process all the improvements of the EL layer, only the ones compatible with the CMv2.9. So that, the picture looks worse than it is, loosing all the improvements coded in L3/L8. That's right?

This kind of DV files, which kind of CM version use?
