I'm on MacOS 11.7.10 (20G1427) with a M1 MacMini.

I tried ripping a BR disc, which eventually failed.
I then cleaned the disc and tried ripping it again- my system rebooted.
A crash dump wasn't displayed though.

Are there any logs I can post for the developers?

Does it matter which region code a DVD or BR has, when I'm just using MakeMKV to rip it for use in Plex?
I've found a hard-to-find DVD set that is only for Region code 2. I usually don't watch movies from DVD-> TV,
I have mostly been watching them from Plex using a tablet.

My usual workflow is to make a decrypted full backup of a disc and then make .mkv files from the backup. It makes it easy to get the movie and any extras on the disc, all at the speed of one's storage, not the speed of the optical drive. Good idea. Mine has been making ISOs an putting them on my NA...

MakeMKV has both "full backup" and "convert to MKV" functions.

To use full backup and get the BDMV folders, DO NOT click on the big disk image after inserting. Click on the little folder icon in the toolbar.

You can backup the BR to a BDMV folder structure. Then make an .iso from that with standard utilities.

On Linux I use mkisofs; I'm not sure about Mac.
