for me the problem with the internal player is the missing support for the DTS audio format using eARC from LG - that´s why i decided to research external media players

Hi, i have a nvidia shield pro and a LG CX TV (supports Dolby Vision). When i use makeMKV to rip the main movie from a DV 4k disc to my nas- are there any special recommended settings to use in makeMKV in order to being able to play it with my devices?

Of course, that´s what i am doing right now. But i also like real world experiences from users whether everything works as advertised. That´s why i am asking if one device offers better handling, less configuration or firmware problems...that kind of things

Thank you very much, that is good to know! I want it as simple as possible out of the box. Didn´t know the Shield need the files to be converted! What about the new Dune Players? The order process of the Oppo seems so complicated But if it really is the best choice...

Wicht part is it that the Z9x 4k doesn't do?
Does Dolby Vision work with the Nvidia Shield TV Pro? This looks good - why would you recommend the chinese Oppo over it? I am just trying to understand if i really need to go through all the extra work to order one
