Re: [Bug] MakeMKV on ARM (linux)
"The program can't find any usable optical drives" is the main problem here. MakeMKV needs direct access to the UHD drive to read encrypted 4K discs. Browsing to a mounted directory won't work. That’s the first time I‘ve heard that. I mean I can try again with the BluRay Drive connected t...

Re: [Bug] MakeMKV on ARM (linux)
I tried 2x 4K BluRays and it still does not work on Arm.
Normal BluRays work just fine

Re: [Bug] MakeMKV on ARM (linux)
I think I replied to a spam/copy-pasta thread at https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34275 That is so weird it seems to be a spam/copy of my account?? I double-checked, but make sure you name it KEYDB.cfg (case-sensitive on Linux) or it won't be found. Was your success in the ot...

UHD discs won’t decrypt on Arm64 (linux)
As the title says the software works up to the point where it has to decrypt the disc and then errors out with a Key not being found. Supplying a keydb.cfg also doesn’t get it working and that’s why I assume it’s a bug on the software side of things. I‘m also not the only one who’s encountered this ...

Re: [Bug] MakeMKV on ARM (linux)
I edited three registry files: one to enable the batch script to be played via VLC's Autoplay of DVDs and Blu-rays, one to disable the commandeer function, and one to generate backup Autoplay listings specifically for DVDs and Blu-rays. As this is my first batch script in a while, I would appreciat...

[Bug] MakeMKV on ARM (linux)
I assume the current userbase for MakeMKV on ARM64 is pretty small but I hope the following bug can still be fixed since recent changelogs also show ARM fixes. For some reason (other people also confirmed it) UHD Blu-ray’s always error out in the beginning and want you to submit the dump for keys. U...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Apparently the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2Gen) 2023 16GB supports: -Dolby TrueHD (Atmos) passthrough -DTS passthrough -DTS-HD passthrough (basic profile) which is new. Still no FEL / Profile 7 DoVi support per https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-streaming-media-pl...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
“SEI Next-gen Box is equipped with Amlogic S905X5 which incorporates a New-gen CPU, 4K HDR UI GPU, NPU 2x4Kp60 decoder , and WVC. Incorporating Ai-SR, Dolby Laboratories Dolby Atmos, eARC, VRR, and QMS support” Is there any legitimate other reason for dual 4k60 decoders other than FEL Dolby Vision? ...

upcoming HDR10+ support on Apple Devices
I thought it could be relevant to start a thread for the announced HDR10+ support during WWDC 2022. It should come to iOS 16, Mac OS Ventura, and the next tvOS. Haven’t tested yet but it should be working on the beta firmware.

Just (video) Player, should be a green icon. It’s also open sourcedanbez wrote:@RESET_9999
Based on your spreadsheet, CCwGTV supports FEL. Which media player app supports it? I am looking for something other than PLEX, since I use Jellyfin. (but I can configure it to use an external player).

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
This has to be one of the biggest news in this thread in a while. Hopefully the difference can be reverse engineered (looks hopeful at @quietvoid). I really thought we’d need to wait for a complete new SoC to maybe one day get DV (at least MEL)+Passthrough Audio in a device to simply stream like the...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It should probably be compared to the FEL disc, in the hope that they're the same. I don’t have the tools to compare the FEL disc to the Version thats being sold here, but the distributer responded to my email saying the A24 Disc‘s DolbyVision is just "upscaled" to FEL while they wanted t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Yup that's straight off the Bluray. Great to know that the distributer here completely disregarded the FEL in probably the most unusal way for a bluray release
