This one contains a Pioneer drive, not an LG-based drive. Billycar11 or CooperVid should be able to help you.
But there is a specific thread for the ASUS BW-16D1X-U ----> viewtopic.php?f=16&t=32872&p=183020#p183020

You weren't even the addressee of Woodstocks post.
But very adult and socially competent behavior towards someone who has helped you in another thread.
You can keep the irony.

Your drive can be flashed. You've to wait until Billy is reacting, I think.

It's an option, no need. Better have and do not need than need and do not have.
The WH16NS60 1.02MK is the recommended firmware for your drive. But theoretically, there could be a better firmware in the future.

Top Loading is imo more prone to defects.
The hilt with the connected technique is the weak point.

Re: Need help with firmare updates on two UHD capable drives
Just have a good look there -----> https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634 There you can find very good information, the SDF Flasher and firmware packs. The BH16NS55 just flash directly to WH16NS60 1.02MK. The BP50NB40 with NB52 needs a few more moves: " ..... NB52 to > B...

Re: disc drive flashed but make mkv says libre drive not enabled
Libre Drive isn't enabled. You're sure you've flashed this drive for using it with MakeMKV? Edit: Sorry, I've just seen your copied text from the cmd. Something went wrong with the flashing process. The Flashing Guide says: " .....BP50NB40 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK then to > BP60NB10 1.02MK or ...

The blocked process of the SDF flasher should have been good advice for you.....
It's bricked. Use the DOS flash way or buy a new one.

Even a good drive could become defective.
But first I would clean the lenses before throwing in the trash can.

You can also try to clean the laser lenses.
Do it with q-tip and alcohol (Isopropanol). Clean twice and dry immediately also with q-tip or a lint-free cloth.

Re: Operating hours / Burn counts of optical drive
I've no expierience in this case, but supposedly CrystalDiskInfo is able to get different datas from optical drives too. Google says: "Although mainly intended for hard drives, CrystalDiskInfo can also display information about optical drives, such as the number of read operations and other SMA...
