Re: ASUS SBW-06D2X-U
I've a problem with an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U from a friend. First, he's a smoker so the drive smells and looks terrible. The drive is flashed to BDR-UD04 1.14 so far so good. Recognition of CD/DVD with the red laser is great but recognition of BD / 4K ..... also terrible. Some yes, some no, some after mu...

Re: LG BP50NB40 reflashed reads SOME UHD discs
Wash new discs with warm soapy water and dry it carefully with a lint-free cloth.
If this doesn't help, flash it to BU40N 1.03MK and try again.

Re: External LG-BU40N has stopped being recognized in Windows.
Is there the "Initio Default Controller" in the device manager? If so uninstall it and check the drive recognition again.

Running with BU40N 1.03 or 1.03MK?
But a view to the error message would be helpfull.

Re: Best Course of Action BW-16D1HT
I would do: Selling the old drive as defective and flashing the new drive to WH16NS60 1.02MK.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
LOTR is known for a bad pressing. So you've started your 4K ripping unlucky. But with the BW-16D1HT LOTR shouldn't be any problem. I wasn't able to rip these discs with my first 4K friendly drive but that was a LG BH16NS40. After the change to the ASUS the ripping was successfull. Try to wash the d...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
But .... 50% success rate with a BW-16D1HT is extremly low?!?! I have a BW-16D1HT also (@ firmware WH16NS60 1.02MK) and it can rip about 97 % of my 4K collection with about 200 movies / series. For the unruly 3% I get my slim Pioneer drive out of the cupboard. Yes, the pioneers are basically...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Not yet, the firmware date is to new. No downgrade possible if newer than November 2022.
In the future it might be possible, have a look there ----> viewtopic.php?f=16&t=37848

Re: Trouble archiving DVDs with Archgon BU40N drive and 1.0 firmware
Try deactivating USB selective power saving in your energy options.
Also try carefully washing the discs as you say they're brand new.
You can also test it with the firmware BU40N 1.03MK.
