Re: Least ‘Bad’ Hitachi-LG Drive for UHD?

You're welcome. Good luck for your search. Ah, I've forgot another slim drive with the BU40N in it. You can also look out for the Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2V(B). But have a good look before buying. I'd only two of them, both with the BU40N. I've not enough expierience with it to say, every of them has the B...

Re: Least ‘Bad’ Hitachi-LG Drive for UHD?

The internal drives has different quality, there are better and worse drives, but with the BU40N I've personally the best expierience with difficult discs (in relation to LG-based drives). Also the recommended firmware is important. With the BU40N 1.00 for example the ripping of horrible 4K disc Bla...

Re: Least ‘Bad’ Hitachi-LG Drive for UHD?

If you want a LG and maximum ripping speed is not very important for you take a LG BU40N or a BU50N. It's a slim drive. You can find it without enclosure or built in the new Verbatim 43888 or in the LG BP55EB40. Also Techpulse, Nolyth or Orico has externel slim drives which could has a BU40N inside ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025

Don't exists.

You need a directly support from Billycar11 or CooperVid.

Post your MakeMKV drive information, ask gently for support and wait for a reaction.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

No, sorry. The firmware is newer then November 2022. All Pioneer drives which could be 4k friendly with the right firmware but were flashed to a firmware 12/22 or newer are out of the game.

Re: Pioneer Pioneer BDR-RW S13EBK does not play Bluray's and UHD's

......... ......... For example, a tabular list of manufacturers and the latest working firmware would not be bad. And a clear statement of what works and what doesn't. After all, Makemkv is not cheap and then it should also work with the drive that is installed. MakeMKV can process what a ...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

New discs you should wash with a warm soapy water gently and dry it in the same way with a soft microfiber cloth.
There could be an invisible film on the discs which can disrupt LG-based drives (sometimes in relation to 2- or 3-layer discs). Pioneers usually has no problems with this.

Even without a MakeMKV screen: Firmware 1.04 is from September 2023. No downgrade possible.

Here you are -----> https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 I think there are hardly any disadvantages. I use the WH16NS60 1.02MK also ('cause of the sleep bug) and the drive runs like before with the 3.10MK. The differences are slightly if you notice anything at all. Edit: If...
