Re: Pioneer Drives from Aliexpress
The BDR-UD03 arrived yesterday. Works perfectly as an UD04. What was the manufacture date on the drives and did they appear to be heavily used? My main concern with buying these (apart from being fake) would be that they were already heavily used and are close to failing. T Mfc was 2018 and it look...

Re: Pioneer Drives from Aliexpress
The LG drive in the enclosure arrived.
First check: Contains a BU50N.
Great stuff for 59,99 Euro and shipping takes from February, 23rd to 28th. (shipped to work, so today was the first view)
Next step: awaiting the BDR-UD03 ....

Re: SDFtool Flasher
.... I did notice this and other sentences in the first page: "If your external Buffalo / Archgon / LG BU40N has encrypted firmware, flash BU40N 1.03-MK first, then you can either leave it as is or flash BU40N 1.00 or Buffalo BU / BN firmware if you want to." I'm curious what the reason f...

Re: Hitachi-LG USB Blu-ray Drive BP55EB40 SVC EB52
It's not for Makemkv / AnyDVD / XReveal. Only if you want to use DVDFab / Passkey. Yeah, the 1.00 compatibility with DVDFab is known. But I thought for the EB52 there is a special reason for this. Or does that only apply to the WP/BP50NB40 with SVC EB52? No special reason. Ok, thank you! :)

Re: Hitachi-LG USB Blu-ray Drive BP55EB40 SVC EB52
I've my first EB52 for flashing here. I thought I do some experimental with it. Just flashed to LG BU40N 1.03MK like the EB40.....and 4K ripping is fine. Why is the the second step to 1.00 necessary with the EB52? It's not for Makemkv / AnyDVD / XReveal. Only if you want to use DVDFab / Passkey. Ye...

If the sticker shows BU40N and UHD BD writer both are good. The newer ones hasn't the UHD logo on the front anymore.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Helping a friend get into backing up his collection after showing him how I'm doing it, and we're having an issue with flashing the drive he purchased. He followed both the command line instructions he found on here for this drive as well as the current guide at the start of this thread, however he...
