Re: Changing Subtitle Output Setting
Why set transparency if you can set the sub flag from 'default' to 'no' with MKVToolnix's header editor without remuxing?

Re: Batch Ripping
I'm having trouble applying MultiShrink to MakeMKV cause the MakeMKV's windows are rendered with QT which is hard to extract info from. You should be able to write a batch to use makemkvcon and profiles.

Re: Add option to compress bluray PGS subtitles
Why not if it's an easy fix, as he says? Also, MKVToolnix is pretty much considered standard in all things MKV and it does compress by default (which other players might rely on too).

Re: Add option to compress bluray PGS subtitles
MMG has a batch function but I guess you'd be faster by using mkvmerge manually.

Which adds yet another unnecessary step, especially as Mike said, this was an easy fix.

Re: * To Clarify *
Funny, Bluray is only mentioned so late in this thread cause this is THE reason to use MakeMKV (why make MKVs of DVDs when you have ISOs?). Just so you know, DVD videos are saved at the average of 3300kbps ! And at 720x480 pixels, 448kbps audio for the 5.1. Just so you know, PAL ist 720x576 and befo...

Re: Newbie here...Need a little help with DVD Menu and Chapt
Chapter yes, menus not cause they are different from those on DVDs. WMP is also the crappiest player out there, use VLC and you can turn of the subtitles (unless they are hardcoded, of course).

Re: Changing Subtitle Output Setting
Nope, not implemented yet. We still need to use the additional step to set the flag to 'no' in MKVToolnix's header editor.

Re: Questions regarding "Audio" tracks and which "Subtitles"
3.) Regarding subtitles: My understanding is that "English" means permanently and "English (forced only)" means not permanently. But I don't understand why there are the same "Subtitles" available two times. We really need a FAQ on this. Forced subtitles come in 3 flav...

Re: legal
Granted. Which is why most people just don't care and rip the stuff they paid for anyway. Still, it would be nice to see a convert only version of MakeMKV (similar to DVD Shrink DeCSS-frei) to be hosted safely on German pages.

Re: Embed forced subtitles
I would move ID4 one up to ID3, keep the settings on it and set all other sub flags to no.

Re: Embed forced subtitles
Of course it has no effect. Am I getting you wrong and you have only 1 stream where only some items are forced? Like I wrote above, MakeMKV should have stripped those into a separate stream. Now set BOTH flags on this sub track to forced and on the regular track to NO.

Absolutely! Why not make a new thread and attach it there so people can give suggestions on improvements (in case you're interested).dhstraayer wrote:b.t.w., anyone else out there with a WDTV who wants my automated fixer, let me know. I'll be glad to supply it to anyone who wants it.
