Re: REQ: zlib compress subs by default

Weird but not at all suprising given it's Sigma we're talking about :(

I remember having read on the official WD forum that dropouts were due to the missing end timestamp of the items. Maybe that's the case with your subs too? So far I haven't seen ANY dropouts on zlib-compressed PGS subs.

REQ: zlib compress subs by default

Mike, I know you're busy but when do you plan on adding zlib compression to subs when ripping BDs? You said yourself, this would be an easy fix and it would really save lots of time not having to remux an otherwise perfectly good rip, just because WD can't fix their WDTV Live. Thanks.

Re: PGS Subtitles MakeMKV & Handbrake

It's not uncommon for forced subtitles to be in a dedicated track, with all subtitles flagged as forced. Any chance it's the same source track, extracted twice (once for the regular checkbox, once for the forced checkbox)? No, regular sub is track 4 and the other two are tracks 6 and 7. Also, if I ...

Re: recommended work flow (mostly a subtitle question)

Why re-run MakeMKV rather than muxing the 1st rip with MKVToolnix manually setting the proper flags?

Re: MKVextract question (not sure if this is the right forum

The only issue discussed in that thread is that for some discs , when doing forced-only extraction, MakeMKV is not including all required subtitles. Can't remember all the threads I posted in, but actually MakeMKV also has trouble with non forced-only extraction. Of course it's only with some discs...

Re: MKVextract question (not sure if this is the right forum

It's related to your problem because MakeMKV apparently has trouble identifying forced subs.

Re: MKVextract question (not sure if this is the right forum

See the Handbrake thread, apparently recognizing forced subs is not always working 100%, especially with clear subs involved. However, on my last rips the extra streams were flagged properly as I could verify by opening the mkv in MKVToolnix thus skipping extraction with mkvextract.

Re: Feature Request "Output Filename"

Enable advanced in the GUI and you can manually enter the filename.

Re: Non-Forced Subs Not being removed

Why should non-forced subs be removed? Forced subs are removed when it turns out that the stream is empty. Which appears to be what happened with your rip. IDs 3 and 5 are the regular subtitle tracks and the corresponding forced streams where removed so you end up with two regular sub streams.

Re: Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly

Nope, that's what I'm using and it works. Maybe it's because of advanced mode?
