Re: How to create SRT files?

As the name suggests BDSup2Sub converts only bitmap based subs to other bitmap subs, there's no OCR. There's two tools you can use (on Windows) that do the job well: DVD Subtitle Extractor 1.0.3.2 Unlike the name suggests you can also open PGS subs extracted from BDs/MKVs. Subtitle Edit Subtitle edi...

Re: Is there a working version of BDinfo for OSX?

I don't know if it's worth the effort but you could download a windows evaluation ISO from Microsoft and set up a virtual machine with Virtual Box on your Mac. You don't even need to activate it to make BDInfo work in it.

Please see attached screenshot.
In Mediainfo simply select View -> Text and you can paste it here. No need for screenshots.

Have you searched the forums? This has been discussd to death, recently with Game of Thrones subs. This should apply to Plex as well.

Re: Information Graphics Added To bluray

IIRC one of the subtitles has these infographics. You could verify this by demuxing all subs from the m2ts with TSMuxer and opening them in BDSup2Sub.

You can try to re-author them with DVD Shrink.

Re: Command line MKV header editing

JMkvpropedit v1.4.3 - Batch GUI for mkvpropedit

allows you to set flags and generate a command-line. I'd start with this but if it does not work, I have a batch on my system somewhere that could help as well. Gonna check it out if you don't make progress.

Re: Select all english related trcks audio/subtitle

'app_DefaultSelectionString="-sel:all,+sel:(eng)' deselects everything and then selects all english tracks. What sub folder are you talking about? Forced subs vs regular sub has been discussed to death on this forum.

Re: Forced Subtitles and 4K Ripping. GOT

As recently discussed in the thread 'Botched subtitles when ripping Avatar' it's usually the other way round: the forced subtiles are stored in their own track where they're not flagged as forced and as such are not recognized by MakeMKV since it apparently only checks for this flag and not for size...

Re: Playlist Question

Probably some form of regional coding, i.e. they simply took the formats they had and put them on the disc. I've seen various examples with lots of European subs excluding German so we got to wait and pay extra when they're finally released.

Re: Issues with subtitles in Handbrake from blu-ray .mkv source

Right, I just prefer no to touch the video ever, especially as recoding still takes lots of time and energy. And as long as the source is PGS which has bigger letters with more colors than Vobsub, OCRing works usually pretty good. Haven't tried this on Anime movies though.

but as long as you stay with MP4, you'll have to settle for one burned-in subtitle track.
Unless he does OCR which works fine with DVDSubextractor or Subedit on PGS files. Or does MP4 not support SRT?

Re: Lost -- the complete series

It would be nice if MakeMKV maintained a disc database with helpful information Yeah, right. Why have Mike waste time on pointless features? He could code a routine that checks the authoring to determine episode order; usually discs have a play all feature which plays the episodes in the right orde...
