As for me, I am perfectly happy to have the 1920 x 1080 (HD) in hand. Rips great, both versions... Upscales beautifully

verdict! walmart disc, same result as other disc. no rip!

Whomever speculated the issue lies within the disc player not understanding 3-layer discs, is most likely correct.

I will be getting a new ripper. just not now.

I just got my walmart replacement delivered, but not home at moment. will try later.

The Blu-Ray looks fantastic. no problem ripping. I am using this option until 4K UHD issue gets solved

It'd be really cool if MakeMKV could convert DV FEL to DV MEL as the rip was happening...
