Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I wonder is possbile to force non-dv video to play as dv via kodi on Shield TV? I don't know about the Shield, but the Firestick only triggers Dolby Vision for the TV when there is proper metadata. Otherwise, there is an option to have Dolby Vision enabled all the time. I don't think the Shield can...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Also if you or anyone else could answer this: assuming playback of DV content in remuxes improves in the near future, will it make any differences whether the TV supports TV led DV vs player led DV? I'm debating between a sony x950h (player led) and x900h (TV led-what I currently have but consideri...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Eventually you might be able to get on the fly conversion from profile 7 to profile 8.1, at least with Kodi. Then all files would be compatible with most devices at playback. I don't believe streaming devices will ever get full support for profile 7 FEL. I've already patched my Kodi to fix the DoVi...

Re: MakeMKV 1.15.4
- Implemented seamless joining of TrueHD streams with overlapping frames based on Dominik Mydlil's idea Just to be sure : Does this change anything for TrueHD/Atmos on single m2ts/part movies or is this only useful for multipart m2ts movies ? I hope for the latter because it's hundreds of movies to...

Re: MKV does not trigger HDR
What device are you using to playback? You can try updating to makemkv v1.15.4 but I had no issues playing back HDR MKVs on my 1.15.3 so idk what your issue is. The file definitely has HDR available. So I'm thinking theres an issue with your playback device/method.

Could you expand on this for me please? What do you mean by player led vs tv led? I also just bought a sony tv on BF, the x900h.What are the implications of it being player led vs tv led DV? As I understand it, with one of sonys recent updates they introduced TV led DV on the x900h. https://www.yout...

Re: MakeMKV 1.15.4
Yes, you caught the problem. mkv with DV dual layer -> no player available, even not the Nvidia Shield (just DV single layer). mp4 with DV dual layer -> I can confirm that my "UBK90" is playing it correctly from USB, but mp4 -> no HD Audio for enthusiasts. mp4 with DV single layer -> my T...

Re: MakeMKV 1.15.4
This program is fantastic, thanks to the creator for all the hard work! Especially now that DV has been added. I have been having some issues however. I have a rip of LOTR ROTK 4k. When I look at the video info after opening in makemkv, I see the dvhe.07.06 BL+FEL+RPU tag implying it sees the DV dat...
