Even the desktop ones (WH16NS40)? Has any of them ever worked? Has the disc ever worked in any drive?

Re: Video can't be decrypted
You probably need a VPN to bypass the geoblocking. Or try to use KeyDB. (Extract the cfg file to C:\Users\Admin\.MakeMKV.)Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.

New enough ones. Older ones could be Pioneer Inside™.MartyMcNuts wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2026 12:04 am The Verbatim 43888 would likely be your best bet as you can flash omnidrive firmware to it for copying game discs.

Re: Omnidrive Compatibility ?
it’s more of an extension that adds additional read modes for certain game discs while keeping the existing LibreDrive functionality.
Actually the "core" of LibreDrive is really a part of MakeMKV, not any firmware patching. It's just that newer "LG kei" firwmare requires patching to "support ...

Re: Discs not loading
I did update to omni drive not that long ago (maybe a month ago)
You have four(?) drives here though, and apparently only the slim ones (BU40N) are flashed with OmniDrive firmware. Are you having problems with all of them or what? (If you don't know / aren't sure, have you tried connect and ...

Probably the same problem as seen in viewtopic.php?t=42238
TL;DR patch it yourself or wait until there's an update (hopefully there will still be one...)

Re: DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO 5.1 lossless playback
same muddy audio
Again, same as what (gives)? I mean, many/most open-source / freeware software players on PC uses ffmpeg/libavcodec (or something based on that, like LAV Filters on Windows) for AV decoding, which should be able to fully decode DTS-HDMA. (Although I'm not quite sure about VLC ...

Re: Blu-ray failure rate frustrations. Help!
Can't see your screenshot (which is expected when posted as an attachment), but usually it's either due to an "aging" / "aged" drive or insufficient power.
For the latter try to connect the enclosure / adapter to a USB-C port (through a C-A adapter when necessary) if any is available, if you don't ...

Re: UHD and BW-16D1HT
Please post the full LibreDrive information section (in text).
EDIT: Never mind since the problem is not being able to read/detect some disc(s). (Basically, try a different copy and/or another drive/model -- preferably a Pioneer one.)

Re: Issue with pc dvd usb player reading specific dvds
Ah, I totally forgot Europe et al. is also Region 2 (coz I'm in Asia).
Anyway, my point was I feel like Region 1 releases are seemingly the worst (among 0-3; have no experience at all with the others).

Re: Fury of the dragon DVD - cannot read
There have been saying that BU40N needs 1.00 to work properly (in some cases?) in Linux. Not sure if it's true for DVDs though.
Can VLC or mpv (with libdvdcss installed) play the DVD? If so maybe you'd want to try dvdbackup.
