USB 3.0 to 7+6 13-pin slimline adapter cable
Better get a slimline to regular SATA adapter, which would then allow you to choose / use a regular SATA to USB adapter. Because "direct to slimline" is considered more niche, choices you have tend to be "cheap" (in quality).

Re: udf: UDF: BROKEN DIRECTORY ENTRY

You can try dvdbackup (on Linux; or build it with mingw using msys2) -- although it doesn't give you an ISO but just the files.

And if MakeMKV also has issue remuxing the decrypted backup made with dvdbackup (and if MKV is what you want ultimately), try mkvtoolnix or even ffmpeg.

Re: E.T. extra-terrestrial UHD disk (ET40TH_UPK5) : never stop analysing the disk, too many sync errors

In my case, I'd simply like to extract the M2TS files and verify whether the resulting video is actually playable.

If you have a decrypted backup, then you can try remuxing it into MKV with something else, such as mkvtoolnix or even ffmpeg. Or you can even just play the M2TS.

It almost sounds ...

Re: Super novice question

You mean like it created three 52.8G MKV files out of one disc in a single rip? Or multiple rips with different versions of MakeMKV? Or multiple rips with the same version of MakeMKV?

but they are all a few MB different in size

What about the video length?

P.S. Please upload your screenshot ...

Single USB C with Power Delivery---Max Wattage Up to 240W---Voltage 5V up to 48V (negotiable)---Max Amps 3A to 5A

Pretty sure you won't get PD or voltage other than 5V. Even if the host port were a "charging port", your device (the drive) wouldn't be capable of doing / requesting for PD. (Also ...

Re: Beta version says expired, before expiry date

It took me a long time to realize that mike has been giving out "beta key s " which is not the same thing as the 30-days trial: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1053

Not sure if the purchase page has been fixed yet, but if so you can also consider buying a permanent key.

P.S. IIRC ...

Re: LG BP50NB40 "Y" Cable Solution to Dismounts

Btw assuming you have two C ports to spare, you can even try to get two C-A adapters and use them with the Y-cable...never tried / needed that myself, but it seems "powerful", heh

P.S. I read that the power plug of the Y-cable can pull only 100mA anyway. Not sure if it's true.

Re: Sicario Backup doesn't play correct main title playlist

Using Process Monitor and BDEdit I figured out the damaged BR disc, when starting the main title, called 03001.jar which eventually led to 00364.mpls which called 00501.clpi which called 00501.m2ts. All good. But, my decrypted copy did something different when starting the main title. It called ...

it weirdly appears as a USB Mass Storage device in device manager

If that shows up but no disc drive item shows up, it means that the USB bridge in the enclosure has problem "contacting" the actual drive. Either the drive's controller is dead, or the USB bridge has somehow entered some sort of ...

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux

Bug in Firefox.

Not exactly.

Apparently it's really just that Firefox sends this header:

Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br, zstd

(which is what curl would also do when run with --compressed)

Which apparently result in the server to perform on-the-fly gzip compression on what it serves ...

Put the following line in ~/.MakeMKV/settings.conf:

sdf_Stop = "HL-DT-ST_DVDRWBD_CH30N_A1B0_211510131448_SIK9RG6LF410"

I don't exactly know why the laptop / MASHITA drive isn't "covered" by the bug, but it seems that something that is somewhat "equivalent" to the sdf_Stop workaround is there ...

As per https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18856 only 1.01 and 1.02 of the ID83 variant is supported. So you'll either need service from Billy (for crossflashing into the ID58 variant), or send the firmware dump to mike and see. (No idea what kind of dump he needs exactly.)

Re: SDF Download - Stuck or not Working?

Probably due to geoblocking or so, but it didn't seem to happen when I was with 1.18.3.

Can be worked around by unchecking "enable internet access", but with that you would probably lose Hashed Keys downloading / updates (which is sort of required for UHD BD and non-LibreDrive -- you can use KeyDB ...
