Re: Friends Blu Ray Collection
I'm a python newbie here but I couldn't get it to work. I don't get any errors but after I enter the command to run (and it does) nothing is changed. I did match exactly the filenames I have in the dictionary.txt Edit: Looks like the dictionary.txt might be for a different BD set. My Season 2 Disc ...

Re: The Martian - 4k rip fails
mkvpropedit is your friend here. There are GUIs for it, but I use the command line version. mkvpropedit ./Movie.mkv --edit track:s4 --set flag-default=1 --set flag-forced=1 Something like the above will mark the 4th subtitle track in ./Movie.mkv as default and forced. Thanks for this. Ended up usin...

Re: Friends Blu Ray Collection
Stumbled on this after buying my wife this set for Christmas. Didn't want to install Python so made a short PowerShell script to do the same thing. Do a search for PowerShell on your Win 10/11 machine then run the "Windows PowerShell ISE" as a administrator. Copy/paste the following in: $B...

Re: The Martian - 4k rip fails
My replacement disc came today and it ripped fine. So, the first one was bad, although looking at it, it looked perfect. The first disk I got from Amazon had read errors within the first 10%. Tried two different known good readers. So I sent it back. The second disk I got wouldn't even get to the c...

Re: Harry Potter UHD Set Disc 6 (Half Blood Prince) Read Failure
I just wanted to comment that I got the Harry Potter 4k last year around Christmas and two of the eight disks would not rip with multiple read errors. I initiated a return through Amazon and asked for a replacement. Replacement came with a cracked case and disks floating around inside. However the t...

Default Track Selection - Can you unselect all titles?
I'm trying to get the default track selection how I want and I just don't seem to be able to. Based on https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4386 I want to unselect everything except subtitles in my preferred language and the highest audio track available. So far I've come up with...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2022
Not sure what happened but the link in the initial post to the SDF.bin doesn't work anymore for me unless you add the www. to the domain name. I.e https://makemkv.com/sdf.bin doesn't work for me but https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin does.

Re: How big is Star Wars Phantom Menace UHD backup?
I ripped only the main movie, the highest audio track, and the subtitles and I cam in at 46.7Gb. Guy above me was at 47.7Gb (assuming more then one audio track) so ours seem correct, yours seems way low.

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
Don't know about firmware 1.02. I normally flash BP60NB10_1.00-MK. Yeah, I re-read the first post and had some trouble flashing it to anything else but eventually got it to take that firmware. I'll test it with a UHD when I find one but with that said I have one of the "friendly" drives a...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
I assume this drive is the same as the BP50NB40?? If so, you should be able to make it UHD capable by cross-flashing to BP60NB10 1.00 MK firmware. If you decide to try it, I suggest you use the SDFtool Flasher to do so. Not positive, it's a slim drive that came in a LG USB enclosure, I've only seen...

Below is the link to the modified ASUS FW Flasher + Downgrade Enabled Firmware + the latest MK firmware pack (20/07/2020): Just wanted to add my 2 cents and say thank-you. I have a LG USB 2.0 External WP50NB40 that I got a couple years ago that was running firmware 1.01. Just used this along with t...
