Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)
I had no issues decrypting and copying all films except for Fellowship of the Ring - Theatrical version. The volume key is unknown for that one disc. I submitted the dump via email 5 days ago but it still has not been added. On the FAQ is says anywhere from a few hours to a few days but 5 days seems...

How to select the 1st subtitle track only
I'm trying to write a selection rule to select only the first English subtitle in a movie. Is this possible?

Re: What are your playback setups?
Its not Plex that's the problem, it's the Roku Ultra. I have one and it would always take forever to start playing and buffer randomly. Its also connected via gigabit ethernet so i knew the network wasn't the issue. I went out and bought the NVidia Shield and it works flawlessly. Instantly starts pl...

uPnP not working with 1.8.14
uPnP is not working with 1.8.14 on OSX and Windows. The server starts successfully but whenever i connect to it with a client, the buffer never fills, the progress indicator does not show any progress. The client seems to be buffering for about 30 seconds, then about 2 seconds of video will play, th...

Re: Reference to: Direct Blu-ray playback with VLC player
Is this just a cosmetic problem in the folder structure that displays in Finder? If so, you can hide it from finder with the following command:
I'm not at my mac right now so i can't remember if the folder is ~/lib or ~/.lib. If ~/.lib, change the code above to reflect that.
Code: Select all
chflags hidden ~/lib

Re: Feature request: no default source
This appears to have gotten worse with 1.8.4. Now if i have one instance ripping a disc and start a new instance, it still hangs the second instance indefinitely and the first instance drops to 0.0kbps read rate. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us an option to turn off auto scanning or at least when a new...

Re: Feature request: no default source
+1
This is really frustrating because without an option to turn off auto scan, it really means that if one rip finishes quickler (which happens every time), I have to wait to put in a new disk in the 2nd drive until the first is done too. Make it almost pointless to run more than one at once.

Is DASPI kernel extension open source?
I'd like to use it for a project i'm working on. In the "DASPI kernel extension" thread, it says it's open source but i can't find a link to the code anywhere.

Mac sleeps during middle of a rip (Mountain Lion)
Under Lion (10.7.x), whenever MakeMKV was ripping a disc, my Mac would not go to sleep until it was finished. I've upgraded to 10.8 Mountain Lion and now my Mac goes to sleep during the middle of a rip if the time it takes to rip exceeds the sleep timeout set in Energy preferences. Something must ha...

Easy fix for damaged discs
As i have 2 small children who love to take the DVDs and Bluray discs out of their cases, i have a large number of scratched discs. Whenever i get an error in MakeMKV that leads me to believe the disc is damaged, i use Turtlewax (car wax) to fix it. You can apply a thin coat of wax, let it dry and t...

All forced subs checked by default in 1.7.0
Ever since i upgraded to 1.7.0, all forced subtitle tracks are selected by default. I have the language preference set to English. I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling a fresh copy but the problem persists. I have to manually uncheck every forced subtitle each time.

Re: Application does not remember window size
This is great! This along with the fix in 1.6.4 that no longer lets you close the application mistake-ably by clicking red close button makes the application almost perfect. I guess my only feature request left is a built in preview/player

Re: 1.6.4 vs 1.6.3 - disc read speed
I had previously used MediaCodeSpeedEdit to modify the firmware for my LG CH10LS20 to enable higher ripping speeds. After 1.6.4 was released i restored my original firmware so that i could see if the new version had overcome the speed limiting issues. Unfortunately, 1.6.4 with the original drive fi...

Re: DVD Won't Eject After Using MakeMKV
I'm having the same problem everyone else is reporting here as well with eject not working. MakeMKV fails with an error. However, i then re-launched MakeMKV and hit the eject button again and then the disc ejected.
