Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
1- mux a DT-DL MP4 in mkvtoolnix 2- mux raw hevc layers in mkvtoolnix but this produces a dvhe.07.03 file instead of dvhe.07.06 Thanks, RESET. And sorry to get back on this but I had a go on both and not sure what to think here. When importing separate BL and EL+RPU in MTX, MediaInfo indeed shows &...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is there a guide somewhere on how to create such DTDL mkv when I have a DTDL MP4, or even already separate BL and EL+RPU? Can this be directly done in MKVToolNix?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 11:03 amIt's supported when the 2nd layer has the dv flag (sidedata) and AFAIK, the only way to get that is by muxing a DT MP4.

In the dual-track dual-layer support column, I noticed mkv being mentioned. Is DTDL possible in matroska nowadays?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 3:55 pmI updated the playback device spreadsheet just a few days ago, check it out

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I wonder if saying P5 is better over P8 just by comparing specs and bitrates is a real-world thing. Maybe it's more fair to express "better" in terms of perception of delivered quality. P5's full range and use of proprietary colorspace carrying potential, one still has to wait & see ho...

Same Ugoos experience here. I thought I'd abandoned my AM6+ forever, but latest CoreElec certainly revived this machines usage.

mp4 STDL and chapters?
A few questions regarding the options after the first "4" (DoVi Profile 7 Input (MKV/BDMV)) if you don't mind, RESET_9999. It is possible for P7 mp4 to be STDL (IIRC the old Yusesope tool could do so), where BL and EL+RPU be interleaved in one hevc track. Is there a particular reason to wh...

Nice. Went flawless after clearing some path-related issues. Really feel like a blundering novice here.

STDL mkv --> DTDL mp4
It's been quite a while since using RESET_9999's scripts and I'm somewhat struggling with the current ones. My newbee apologies for asking.
Is it possible to convert a dovi P7 mkv (singletrack duallayer) into a P7 dualtrack-duallayer mp4 file? If so, can someone tell me which steps in what script?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Seeing difference between FEL and MEL/Profile 8/recodes and really enjoying it are two different things indeed. To be able to assess, first off you must be able to see FEL in its full glory, which I think very few of us can do. It takes a native 12 bit screen in the first place and its ability to di...

Re: Lossy loseless audio?
To my knowledge dvd can't carry DTS-HD MA. Maybe OP is talking about dts. Dts is lossy, so converting dts to FLAC will still be lossy compared to the master-audio where dts was derived from. But lossless compared to the dts track itself, as @Rojma rightly stated.

My version of this movie has 16 chapters, so I'd guess this is the one. Hope this helps.

Re: How do you watch MKV files that have an ATMOS track?
For playing TrueHD with Atmos you need an Atmos decoder, be it onboard a tv, soundbar or surround processor/AVR. If Atmos isn't supported, you need at least a TrueHD encoder for the 2D flatbed part. I'm guessing your bluray player is capable of bitstreaming the Atmos track over HDMI though. FYI (UHD...
