I just started appending my files. For some reason, Plex does not recognize any chapters in the second half of the movie. When I look at the file through mediainfo, it shows the chapter numbers restarting. Is there a method for getting the chapters to continue in sequential order?

Yes, but the audio is still fading out into the black screen so you will end up with an abrupt jump on the audio. Especially on the two towers. I only removed about 4 seconds from the end of each part 1 and left a little of the fade to black to avoid cutting off the audio. The numbers I used are 15...

My discs arrived today even though yesterday Amazon said they would be delivered tomorrow. I've just started on Fellowship. I'm only backing up the extended versions. I will try the two parts in a single folder to see how that works with Plex. I can't wait to watch these movies!

I had AV Sync issues with The Martian. However, when I tested the first few locations where they are at I did not notice any glitches with the movie over Plex. I did try the theory that the subtitles could be a problem and ran it a second time without subtitles. It gave me the exact same AV Sync err...

After cleaning it twice, it finally worked. Thank you very much. I'm now underway making mkvs of all my 4k UHD discs. I only have about a 15 or so, but I will be getting more for Christmas along with additional storage and a Shield Pro.
