Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

What's this baking the FEL thing?

Just encoding the FEL info into BL and leaving RPU info aside to make profile 7 FEL into profile 8 but with BL still looking fine for ones where it needs EL + BL ?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Is there a way to tell what resolution video an RPU came from/what resolution an RPU is intended for? Like if I have a p5 RPU but not the source p5 video, and a HDR10 Blu-ray BL to inject the RPU into - how do I know if black bars should be cropped or not (on some p5 videos the video is 16:9 with b...

It requires re-encoding but it can be done in resolve. I actually convert all my SDR bluray to HDR/DV.
For titles that don't have UHD/UHD web releases? Or for all just to have a 1080p HDR/DV library?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just FYI anyone who cares - the solution for me in the end for the NF HEV1 DV8 issue was to just use my 5950x and transcode the base layer so it worked fine as HVC1 Luckily even with NF's native horrible color artificing I see at times (makes people look like they're blushing, but blocky) hard to sp...

Re: Star Trek Next Generation Box Set

I had to rip all this from physical discs myself, bought from Amazon, no problems. But this was also ~5 years ago? Maybe just bad batches/production runs. I know that does nothing for you having issues, sorry :? You're in the UHD forum. The TNG Movie UHD's just released. Believe the street date is ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

No I mean Plex causes stutter on Apple when processing hev1/dvhe Ah, gotcha. Yes, maybe also Apple walls whatever off from 3rd party apps and only has accesses to needed libraries/resources with their native apps? Would be very Apple to do. Or Plex devs just need to fix you think? Would also be ver...

I guess Plex is doing something wrong when processing hev1.
This happens on Windows too with no Plex in the chain, where all my screenshots showing the issue come from. And again only for NF titles - that there shows it's something with these specific titles in particular.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

maybe the test file at that time was hvc1? no, my script (7-1) always created HEV1 P8 or DVH1 P5 mp4 maybe splitting the file broke something, did you try (7-1) with an untouched P8 mkv that has audio and subs? For P8 on ATV you have to use infuse. For plex you have to use 'fake' P5(p8). I can't us...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Also here you can see because the file does end up with codec ID hev1 however it does - it does stutter on iOS devices like me and that Chinese guy were talking about a while back https://i.imgur.com/RWmfX1m.mp4 I don't know about phone playback and don't have an apple device(never will). I only te...

:xps_inband produces hev1 flag
:hdr=none removes "mp4box bug of listing HDR10 over and over"

Got it, thank you for clarifying :D

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

mp4box -add video.hevc:dvp=8.1:xps_inband:hdr=none -brand -add audio.eac3:lang=eng -new p8.mp4

This spits out a hev1 file for me with mp4box - it has to be the
-brand
command and the
:xps_inband:hdr=none
together

Still ends up stuttering on iOS though because hev1 :/

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

You might want to check if a line in one of your scripts is off and it's sending stuff to mp4muxer instead of mp4box? it possibly accidentally using mp4muxer? no it's not. As I said, only if your input has lossless 7.1, then mp4muxer will be used because mp4box choke on 7.1 EC3 audio muxing. my cmd...
