Why not just use an earlier version of MakeMKV prior to it supporting Dolby Vision?pistachiomatt wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 2:52 amHow can I disable Dolby Vision muxing? This one mux is producing overly saturated results and I want to generate a non-Vision HDR version to a/b test.

Re: Unable to Decrypt Leon The Professional Director's Cut
*edit* I emailed svq@makemkv.com the MKB20_v70_LEÓN_F849.tzg file so hopefully that will get sorted. Yup, that's all you need to do! Try again, generally I'd say within 24 hours - just make sure to have "Enable Internet access" selected in MakeMKV's Preferences in the General tab - MakeMK...

Unable to Decrypt Leon The Professional Director's Cut
Hi, I have the registered MakeMKV 1.15.3 and I've been ripping my UHD discs just fine. Except one. Leon: The Professional Director's Cut (Dolby Vision) The following are the details: Drive Information OS device name: /dev/rdisk2 Current profile: BD-ROM Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE BU40N Rev...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Does makemkv not show BL+FEL+RPU when opening the disk? Does the new mediainfo not detect dolby vision? No and no. And to doubly test it, I downloaded a full complete UHD copy and tried it with MKV and same result. I also tried on multiple computers all with the latest (registered) version of MakeM...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I have just purchased the UHD 4K of Terminator Dark Fate which supports Dolby Vision and indeed works on my UHD Panasonic Bluray player. However, when using MakeMKV to backup my disc, it refuses to copy across Dolby Vision. Plex will only ever play it in HDR. Is there something particular with this ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Now open mkvtoolnix, add the mkv you created with MakeMKV, deselect the DTS-HD audio track, add the audio.ac3 file and mux to a new mkv file. This file should retain the DV (as you are using the MakeMKV generated mkv file) and now have only an ac3 audio track. This is the bit where I'm going to get...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
OK then. So this goes back to Mike in that - can you please support as an input for the audio conversion DTS:X? I have an AC3 profile which works with all other variants of DTS other than DTS:X.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Now, as for DTX, I realise I can't convert it to TrueHD Atmos, but I am wondering whether I can convert it to TrueHD 7.1 (non ATMOS). Likewise for DTS-MA 7.1 to True HD 7.1. That's what I am looking at now. Like I said, you can't. The best you can do is the experimental ffmpeg truehd encoder which ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Fair enough. I think what the previous user replied with saying at the end of day its a soundbar and not to worry too much about it is probably right. Just stick with what works because you probably won't even hear the difference. Also re-reading your post above, did you really mean to say you were...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Honestly would suggest they get an AVR that supports all the lossless formats instead of messing around with converting anything. If you're already spending what it costs to get a Sonos why not get a real AVR with speakers? I'm too invested in Sonos to go down any other path and cannot afford to sw...

Re: DTS to AC3
Hi All. Thanks very much for all the valuable info in this thread. I managed to get it to work. I have two questions: 1. It fails on DTS:X and cannot convert to AC3. Anyone else have this issue? 2. Any chance we can convert to E-AC3 instead of AC3? I tried by simply renaming AC3 to E-AC3 but it won'...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Fair enough. I do know I can support True HD 5.1 (better than E-AC3). However, I tried to extract the True HD 5.1 from a DTS X, and when I tried to play it back I got silence on my Sonos ARC. I do know True HD 5.1 works as I have other titles where it definitely works. The sound profile on ones that...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Stream #0:0: Audio: truehd, 48000 Hz, 5.1, s16, 1536 kb/s When I checked the file out in mediainfo, it says it's 6 channel. So TrueHD 5.1 played only silence on the Sonos ARC. It recognised the signal but no sound. Perhaps the bitrate was set too high? I know with E-AC3 Sonos ARC has a limit of 960...
