Re: 3D MVC Option
3D MKV made with MakeMKV will be a Frame Packed arrangement (not sure what that program says for options as i don't have 3D on my computer), not side by side or over under.

Re: 3D MVC Option
Unfortunately that's not how it works. If the player can't play 3D stream, it will play only the 2D frames.Stryker412 wrote:VLC, I thought it would at least look blurry so I would know it's in 3D.

Re: 3D MVC Option
Well first up i see this : "Please note that the Popcorn Hour and PopBox products DO NOT support: Blu-ray 3D rips" Thats basically what MakeMKV is doing... Then specifically down the bottom of that page: "If you have other stereoscopic 3D videos, you can add a special tag that our box...

Re: 3D MVC Option
Your C-200 is an HDMI 1.3a device according to the specs on their page. HDMI 1.4 is required for full transmission of 3D frame packed data, which is what MakeMKV creates from a 3D Bluray source. Example, my WDTV Live! plays everything i want/need including SBS and OU/TB 3D, but its only HDMI 1.3 and...

Re: 3D MVC Option
OK did a bit of digging and this is what i find ... march 2011 post: "The advantage of letting our device handle this is that it will automatically signal the 3DTV, via HDMI1.4 protocols, to switch to side-by-side or top-and-bottom mode, according to the source material (by naming it *.3DSBS.* ...

Re: 3D MVC Option
Any original disc that is ripped will be frame packed. Side by side and Over Under split screen type 3D movies are always going to be encodes of original movies (not how they are originally presented on the dsic). Formatting of the video file has no real bearing/effect on Active/Passive 3D modes on ...

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
Yup, subs aren't needed anyways (i thought some of the on-screen stuff was subbed) but its all burned in from wht i can see so far. Also for those wondering, YES, the 3D information is retained. The file is on my PC, with Serviio over netowrk to my Panasonic TV, playing back in 3D. I do get some pix...

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
More messing about, unticking the SUBTITLE tracks allows the disc to be ripped, finally, successfully.

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
OK, so doing some more investigation, i had problems ripping discs now that i've ripped before, so i thought straight away, my drive is dying.... I spoke to a mate of mine, mentioned the issues i was having and was thinking it could be my drive failing, he said run a CPU stress test and see if it pa...

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
Two attempts to backup, back to back, i didn't even eject the disc, just closed make MKV and reopened it. Shows different offsets for the errors and 10 vs 8 hash check failures so i don't know what to blame ?? I'm doing a backup of In Time at the moment to verify that the drive isn't the issue and i...

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
Strangely no, the hashcheck didn't come up with any errors during the successful backup of the disc which i then thought wow, i'll be able to make an MKV now... I still have the 'successful' backup files on the hard disk. I was able to make an MKV of the DVD disc without problem btw. HOWEVER, trying...

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
OK, this is really weird now ... I tried again, failed with both discs to make an MKV, but Disc1 i was able to make a full backup of successfully, but using the backup, fails to make an MKV ... ! Attached are the two logs from trying to make an MKV. Disc2 Still causes MakeMKV to crash when doing a b...

Re: TT3D:Closer to the Edge Blu-ray fails when ripping
+1
I also have 2 different versions of the disk (both original of course) and both fail in backup and MKV mode and one CRASHES MakeMKV in Backup mode!
Can post the details up if you need them.
