Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
My Dad has an Asus SBW-06D2X-U (manufactured in 2015) with firmware D501. It isn’t showing any libredrive information is this model likely to be supported (I see other firmware version in the list) is this one where I can dump the firmware and send in? If so how would I do that? Many thanks!

Re: Flashing back to original firmware from MK version
Thanks for the advice I’d found 3.00 was ripping faster for me, but I think it’s confusion in makemkv as it’s not adding a registry entry for the reflashed drive so I will try reinstalling to see if that fixes that issue. If 3.10MK is best firmware to stay on then I will take that advice! It’s only ...

Flashing back to original firmware from MK version
I’m sure many will question why I did this! But I flashed my Asus 16D1HT from 3.00 stock to 3.10MK (I was hoping it would allow me to rip a UHD disc that was failing half way through - of course it didn’t!) I used MartyMcNuts excellent SDF Tool Flasher app, prior to upgrading firmware I dumped the e...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
I would like to let everyone know that the Inateck USB 3.0 to SATA adaptor (model UA1001) works for flashing firmware (confirmed by flashing 3.10MK to my Asus 16D1HT). Have had it peak at around 12 speed max for reads so far. I managed to get it for £14 on a lightning deal, but usually £18 https://w...

Re: Best firmware for Asus BW-16D1HT
Thanks for the info. With the 3.0 firmware it is ripping up to 12x on Blu-ray, and rips uhd with no problem. So I believe libredrive is working correctly (once I’d worked out I needed to set speed control!) I will leave it as is! Interesting to know there could be issues down the line. The shop I bo...

Re: Best firmware for Asus BW-16D1HT
I have now added the speed control string in the registry and read speed is now as hoped! So I’m guessing I have no need to change firmware as speed is no longer limited and it reads UHD, but if anyone knows a reason to switch I’d be very interested.

Best firmware for Asus BW-16D1HT
Hi. Previously had bought a second hand LG WH16NS40 (which was MT1939 so an old one) I am returning that one and managed to get hold of an Asus BW-16D1HT (which is an MT1959!) it has FW 3.00 on it, and in makemkv it reports libredrive compatible and yes to everything. Is there any benefit to me chan...

WH16NS40 sVC NS40
Hi I’m new to this and just wanted to check if things are working ok. I bought a second hand 16x Blu-ray writer from cex (it’s a bit of roulette as to what drive you get) mine ended up being a WH16NS40 with SVC NS40, so I know this isn’t the UHD friendly version which is a shame, but I don’t have UH...
