I have a Sony ubp-x700 player. Can someone explain how I can use that to play DV MT2S files? Do I have to copy them to USB or can I access files on my NAS? Cheers.

I understand that the latest MakeMKV (1.15.4) can now remux a MEL DV UHD Bluray.

For FEL a MEL needs to be created. Is the post below still the preferred method or has it been updated? Thanks

On my LG CX using Zidoo Z9X I can play all files but only STDL_FEL_to_MEL.mp4 engages DV.

Oh, I thought you were referring to dual track mp4 as well. Those are pretty much the only reason I'd convert to mp4, because the C8 still supports them as profile 7 FEL.

The resultant MKV plays in DV with Dolby Atmos track! Result. However as I have a Z9X and a LG CX TV there is a known issue. The TV keeps resyncing and after about 5 minutes playback gets choppy. Hopefully at some point this will get fixed

OK I got hold of your 0.0.4 beta package and did the following

Ran MUX_EXPERIMENTAL.bat adding in the main M2TS file from the movie 1917. I updated the script within the .bat file to
python-3.7.6.amd64\python.exe src\app.py -mode_exp 2 -skip_hdr10plus -mux_exp
Imported the resultant HEVC ...

In the meantime I have further updated the test version (v0.0.4 BETA in the usual POST ).

MUX_EXPERIMENTAL.bat accepts as input a DTDL file (ex: m2ts) and returns a HEVC stream (saving you a lot of time).
I left the instructions inside (right click -> edit): modify it according to your needs.

I ran through the steps twice to create 8.1 profile and the second created MEL from FEL.

The first I added '-mode 2' into first script and type 8 in final step.

The second I added fel_to_mel to first script and typed 7 in final ...

I think it would first be necessary to define which are the reliable players for DV.
Is the shield a reliable player ?
Is the Z9X a reliable player that actually displays the DV contained in a DV file ? Has anyone compared the Z9X DV image to an original dvhe.07.06 image ?

The zidoo Z9x also accepts the profile 8.1 procedure. I only tested in mkv. But it works fine in this 8.06 profile.
I am your procedure:

Extract the base layer and the enhancement layer
ffmpeg -i path\to\the\file.m2ts -ss 0 -t 120 -map 0:0 -c copy path\to\BL.hevc
ffmpeg -i path\to\the\file ...

Did some more testing again as follows on 1917 UHD to play on Zidoo Z9X

Process below I used recommended versions of all software

created BL.hevc and EL.hevc using ffmpeg
MUX_AND_CONVERT_TO_PROFILE_81.bat to create BL_EL_RPU.hevc
mp4muxer with BL_EL_RPU.hevc to create .mp4
tsmuxer to ...

The final MKV plays in DV fine for a few minutes but then gets choppy.

Why don't you also try an mp4 and/or ts file?
Also, you don't need to create an mp4 file before creating the ISO with TsMuxeR. Import the HEVC raw stream directly in TsMuxeR.
