Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I got my shield a few days back and did the following: 1. Installed Kodi from the playstore. 2. Installed Exoplayer from here - the file with name: Exoplayer_Chapters_Support_03_08_2020_no_debug.apk 3. Added playercorefactory.xml (below) to Kodi under userdata (Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kod...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Is there a version of the apk or a way to default the audio to 'none'? - trying to play my MKV rip of The Matrix. Worked fine on my other setup downstairs using an HDFury Vertex 2 running through a Marantz 6012. I hooked my 2019 Shield up to a brand new Sony Bravia X90H I purchased for a room upsta...

Re: Current Walkthrough to Rip with DV playback for Nvidia Shield Pro 2019
Hi folks, I know I'm going to probably get blasted for this but I check around every couple months or so for updates on ripping 4K Discs with MakeMKV for playback with Dolby Vision retained on Nvidia Shield 2019 pro. I did some searching on this thread using the relevant terms but didn't come up wi...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Just tested this but basically anything that can launch exoplayer with the video path will work. So anything with an Open With like a file explorer. I just used the file explorer on my shield to kick of exoplayer with it's open with option.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
1. Do I need to re-rip anything? In my searching on this thread before I put my post up it seems a few months ago there was a new release of MakeMKV that was important to use for DV playback. MakeMKV 1.15.1 supported DV, but in a proprietary way that the author invented. Once the MKV spec itself wa...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
When search I saw the bp60 was about the same price, but it seems LG just decided the put new software on same drive and release as new model.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
Just popped in to say thanks. Been using MakeMKV for years to backup my blu-rays and finally noticed you added instructions for the BP50NB40. Picked up the drive at Best Buy for 90 bucks, Read guides for an hour and then upgraded my drive using the ASUS tool and BP60 HBD firmware in about 5 minutes ...
