Re: Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB'
Since ImgBurn has no problems imaging these discs, that proves there's nothing wrong with the discs nor with my optical drive, which only leaves MakeMKV as the source of the problem. I'm using the latest version on Windows 10: I now believe that my optical drive was the problem. I imaged about 25 o...

Re: Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB'
My incident isn't about UHD discs, but it involves this exact same error (Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB). I was getting this error on every disc in a DVD box set on some of the episodes. For example, on the first disc I tried it only ripped 1 episode and failed due to that error ...

Re: Being Asked To Start Eval Period Every Time
Like @OP this wouldn't be a problem except that it makes the VLC integration unusable. I'm getting the exact same errors. Open MakeMKV, click on Help > Register, and then enter the temporary beta key that's provided by mike admin in this regularly updated post: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtop...

Re: Why are Blu-ray 2:35:1 when they should be 16:9? - There's Proof
This is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what "marketing" for Blu-rays tells us. We are always told that the 2:35:1 Ultra Widescreen movies such as Star Wars contains "extra information" to the sides. We are told that the Blu-ray versions of the movies allow us to see all that "extra ...

Re: Decryption On The Fly
I enabled integration in MakeMKV for both VLC and MPC-HC (and for good measure, I checked the boxes for "System" and "System (32bit)" too) and VLC plays Blu-ray discs fine but MPC-HC doesn't. MPC-HC tries to access the disc for a minute or two, then stops trying for about a minut...
