Hi Mike,
When you load up a TrueHD movie with MakeMKV, branching off from TrueHD is the option use AC3. I'm not refering to other AC3 audio on the disc, just the AC3 audio that is seen branching off the TrueHD audio.
How is MakeMKV getting that AC3 audio? Surely that's the AC3 core?
Thanks

Re: Problem - tsMuxer Created Structures
Hi Mike,
Do you need the sample to be 120 seconds, so makemkv can open? I've uploads a 10 seconds sample here...
http://www.mediafire.com/?myfynxz2lyf
...however i can't open with MakeMKV as it ignores it due to being under 120 seconds.
A 120 second samples comes in at over 400mb!
Thanks

Re: Feature Request... Retain TrueHD 'AC3 Core'
Hey guys, Check this out over at doom9... http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=155499 The general consensus is that TrueHD does have a separate AC3 core file within the TrueHD file. This can be extracted natively without re-encoding. There's new muxer posted at Doom9 (http://forum.doom9.org/showt...

Re: Problem - tsMuxer Created Structures
I've been backing up with AnyDVD, then running the decrypted blu-ray's main mpls/m2ts file through tsmuxer, stripping out unwanted audio, etc, then outputing as blu-ray. Also tried outputing as avchd. I've also tested with a makemkv decrypted backup (not a makemkv converted mkv file, but straight fu...

Re: Feature Request... Retain TrueHD 'AC3 Core'
Make a backup of a disc. Then run it through tsmuxer removing everything but the TrueHD track, and demux. Then open the demuxed TrueHD track in tsmuxer. Right, you can now demux using the option to downconvert to ac3. How can you do that if there is no ac3 core!? If you have movie that has been back...

Re: Feature Request... Retain TrueHD 'AC3 Core'
Actually, i've since found out we're all kinda right! TrueHD doesn't have to have a core, and sometimes it doesn't, however i've yet to come across that one doesn't! Would it be possible to have an option to copy audio as is? Then if theres a ac3 core its kept, if there isn't then so be it, you just...

Re: Feature Request... Retain TrueHD 'AC3 Core'
TrueHD does have a AC3 core, it's just that it doesn't rely on it like DTS-HD does. Doesn't MakeMKV gives you the option to use the ac3 core instead of TrueHD? I've created mkv's using MakeMKV from movie only backups (created with DVDFab) that only have the TrueHD soundtrack. All other tracks have b...

Re: Problem - tsMuxer Created Structures
Ok, done some more testing. So to summarize... 1) Backed up a bd disc using dvdfab. Ran the output through makemkv without any problems. 2) Put the dvdfab backup through tsmuxer, outputted as bd. Ran that output through makemkv and the problem happens (sits at 0:00:01 without finishing). 3) Backed u...

Re: Problem - tsMuxer Created Structures
Ok, so i think the problem lies when the backup is touched by tsmuxer, before its run through makemkv and converted to mkv. Ran the dvdfab backup through tsmuxer, then outputed from tsmuxer as bd folder. Ran that output through makemkv and the problem happens. It's basically sitting at 0:00:01 remai...

Re: Problem - tsMuxer Created Structures
Ok, so i used dvdfab to backup a disc to my hard drive (also stripped out unwanted audio tracks and subs so i got the main movie stuff only). Ran that output through makemkv and what do you know, it ran fine! I've also put the dvdfab backup through tsmuxer and outputed as a bd folder. Running it thr...

Re: Feature Request... Retain TrueHD 'AC3 Core'
I mean having the option to keep the ac3 core within the truehd track, not separating them. So when you play the movie on a computer that cannot bitstream truehd, and is connected with spdif, you get the ac3 core automatically (without having to select a second track manually).
Many thanks
