Oooo first I've heard of this Pioneer drive! What are the benefits? Better at reading certain discs?

Just got a bunch of discs from the Barnes and Noble 50% off sale and so far half of them can't be opened by MakeMKV. The drive just makes the chugging sound for a minute or two and then acts like there's no disc inserted. One of the ones that could read failed about 1/5th of the way into the rip. I ...

Update Ripped the disk straight to Mac, no hubs or anything in-between: no errors. Copied the file to my NAS and then ran the ffprobe command: errors. So this is just a conversion from a blog page on The Digital Bits, nothing in here is entered manually. If they had that data I’d pull it in! Do you know if there’s somewhere I can get that info and automate it?

Strange Darling was probably the most RED movie I've ever seen...insanely saturated. But, I assumed this was on purpose: at the start there's a banner on screen "Shot completely on 35mm film". So I assumed the filmmakers really wanted to drive that fact home with some deep, saturated reds ...

Try using mkvtoolnix

This worked! I didn't realize MKVToolNix could open files other than MKV, but sure enough it can!

Hey everyone sorry to butt in on this thread but it seemed fairly related to what I'm trying to do: Is there an easy ffmpeg command to convert an .mp4 with embedded DV (profile 5) to .mkv? A google search for "mp4 with dolby vision to mkv" is all for doing the opposite—converting .mkv to ....

You ran the wrong .bat. You are supposed to run the synchronize .bat not AACSkeys.
