Re: American Woman - Vertical Entertainment/Lionsgate - Fake Content Hash Table?
Clean the disc clean the drive laser I understand that this is the mantra around here, but, I think in this instance, it really doesn't apply. I always clean my discs before any rips. And, in this case, I cleaned it in between each rip as well to try to get a clean rip. I even performed a fourth ri...

Re: ddrescue shows 0 errors/100% rescued on Libre-enabled drive, but makemkv fails with hashcheck errors
This issue happens in the LG drives because of what they call "Jamless play". It is technically not a problem, but a "firmware feature" that if the drive detects the disc is a Video DVD or Blu-Ray, and there are bad sectors, the drive sometimes will just skip those sectors, retur...

Re: Ava 2020 - Cant recognize disc
These Redbox-released discs will only work in older drivers. Works on LiteOn and my Panasonic UJ-260 but not on the LGs. The same issue happened with their Becky movie.

Any way to disable LG's "Jamless Play" on the drives?
Jamless Play is the feature that returns garbage data instead of making MakeMKV retry on a failed sector. This results in HashCheck errors. LG drives are the only ones that gives this error because Jamless Play kicks in and returns garbage data. Using LiteOn or Panasonic drives doesn't return hash e...

Re: WH14NS40 issues. Where to buy the OPU/parts?
I don't, but I've replaced OPUs on the past, specifically on Lite-On drives without any issues as long as the OPU is the exact same model. They read and burn fine. Are these Hitachi OPUs used on the LGs more sensitive than others when it comes to calibration? UPDATE: Just received the replacement WH...

Re: Absolutely NO spinup - LG WH14NS40-NS50 Drive
The symptoms you mention are the exact same as the ones I've been experiencing. The OPU is making some noises as if it can't focus or can't read the disc. The motor spins but barely. It seems that after 5 to 10 minutes between sessions, it will read the disc. Sometimes it will read fine but sometime...

WH14NS40 issues. Where to buy the OPU/parts?
Hi everyone, I've been an owner of the LG WH14NS40 for about 3 to 4 months now. Unfortunately, it seems that the OPU (Optical Pickup Unit) is dying. It will read a Blu-Ray disc but I have to wait about 5 to 10 minutes before the drive can read another one. Otherwise, it reports "No Disc". ...
