Re: A good method to get proper subtitles and force them
In general, subs are readily identifiable. I just want to be sure I am acquiring the correct sub and only that sub. Foreign language film with English Sub English language film with forced Sub for moments not in English. Chetwood, Clown BD make it fairly easy to separate streams and do a quick test ...

Re: A good method to get proper subtitles and force them
dcoke22 thank you for the quick response. If I know the track/stream I have no issues as I strip out all other subs. However, sometimes the sub is not easy to find as it may be inside or a subset of another sub. This is why Clown BD for me was so helpful and also handled audio as well. I just don't ...

Re: For the Best Drives (ASUS & LG) and the Best Service (alexcoluzzi32@gmail.com) Click here!
Just a shout to Alex. From your early days of helping others and now just recently (again) I have enjoyed your efforts in making an ASUS burner with the correct firmware available for me. I still have the first one which works great that I will finally loan to my friend who keeps asking and this new...

A good method to get proper subtitles and force them
Though I use Mac, I had in the past used "Clown BD" free software in Windows environment mostly to make sure I got the right subtitle. It worked very well back then. As I am returning to ripping, what is the best means to get the correct subtitle and if possible flag them as forced? Usual ...

Re: Apple Silicon
I would be happy to hear if the new M1 Macs can run MakeMKV with Rosetta at this time util ported. Does anyone know if it does now work with Rosetta?

How to find my license registration for new install
I am sure this must have been covered many a time so please forgive me for being one of those many asking - My system was going a bit sketchy so I backed it up and did a reinstall which bumped me up to Big Sur. I am able to install the latest MakeMKV application but of course it asks for license reg...

The Mummy Ultimate Trilogy UHD from the big River
1) All three movies proved to be an unpleasant experience where creating an mkv file direct from disc (all three movie discs) part way through failed out as if the discs were damaged. The movie is 1 m2ts file on the disc. 2) If the disc is backed up so the entirety of files is copied over to a drive...

Re: The Cotton Club Encore BD obfuscation
rdgrimes, thank you for the response. I tend to prefer the main feature (video, best audio stream and forced sub/sub if required) rather than the entire disc backup. Rather interesting that MakeMKV and BDinfo both gave different playlists and neither were the one you recommended. Lionsgate can be a ...

The Cotton Club Encore BD obfuscation
Though I do most stuff including MakeMKV on a Mac, I also use a virtual of Windows for some other applications. One that I use is BDinfo. The problem is that The Cotton Club Encore is a Lionsgate usual mess with plenty of false lists. The obfuscation is miserable but MakeMKV offers up one mlps as th...

Re: SDF Fails to Download, MakeMKV fatal error opening UHDs
Thank you for the response. I was hoping to just get a listed of steps to take to download and how to do this within MacOS. I gather these are .files or .directories and as such hidden. The particular thread doesn't quite cover a simple set of instructions.

Re: SDF Fails to Download, MakeMKV fatal error opening UHDs
If a manual download is for now the work around, could someone provide the location and file name to download and then what to do with it please or if clear instructions exist, where may we find them? Though I get the SDF fails situations, I have been able to generate MKV files from UHDs except for ...
Re: UHD FAQ
With HDR, is the single MKV file created sufficient for playback (on a 4K tv that supports HRD) via Nvidia Shield TV? Do I need an entire backup of the UHD disc? An MKV is perfectly fine for HDR playback on the SHIELD. Works in Plex, Kodi with no problems. No need to back up the whole disc. Thank y...

Re: Potter 8 movie collection. 2nd disc volume key unknown
Yeah I don't understand how the key file keeps breaking. Movies that have been in there forever suddenly disappear and reappear a few updates later. HP2 though has been gone for months IIRC. Weird. No, HP2 is still in there. See "HARRY_POTTER_CHAMBER_SECRETS" in the keys file. The problem...
