I was wondering when ripping the Lord of the Rings 4K extended versions, MakeMKV shows two copies:

The Lord of the Rings- The Fellowship of the Ring (EXT.) PT. 1_t01
The Lord of the Rings- The Fellowship of the Ring (EXT.) PT. 1_t04

Which one is best to select ...

Is each extended movie around 200Gbs merged?

is the top 4K and the bottom Blueray?

one has chapters and the other one does not. use the one with chapters

S08 Disc 1 Episode 2 fails. makemkv is able to read the whole disc and has no problems. just episode 2 fails. Should I get a replacement disc?

I think my problem with S08 D1 (4k) is that ink from the stacked disc is on disc. What is the best way to clean the surface?

So far the only hiccup I have is with S01 Disc 2. It really does not like when I run a decrypted backup. Currently on S06

If I understood the process correctly. You just open up makeMKV and open up old files and they should fix themselves if they are new enough.
I am now patiently waiting for Plex to update so I can use this on my shield.

I bought the LG WH16NS60 w/ OWC Mercury Pro SATA to USB enclosure. I am very happy with my purchase, and was surprised by how quiet it is while running. It was awesome to just be able to buy it and have it work, even though I could have done it myself. This is my first 4k bluray drive.
