Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Wow, that's a lot of information. Thanks for sharing. Did you notice any problems playing back the cut files? I ask because when I cut a file there was green overlay during playback. I then tested splitting the file by 1GB and while it played back fine, the x700 continued trying to play the file at...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Last night I watched The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring and I was able to fast forward. I used the latest version of tsMuxer and muxed both parts to individual m2ts files. I merged mine in a single TS file. So if FF works for each individual part, that pretty much confirms the issue i...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I'm not sure of that anymore ... The Lord of the rings trilogy all failed to FF/RW. same for the first 2 Hobbit. but somehow the Hobbit 3 has no issue with FF/RW even though it's a 2h40 movie. I'm sure I had issues with title shorter than that. I think it’s ultimately going to come down to the ts c...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I believe the furtherest we have got with the seeking issue, is that it is somehow related to the length of the file. Interestingly, different formats, whilst they don’t support DV, supposedly allow seeking to work with long duration. I haven’t got my player yet to investigate myself, but I think th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
DV playback is perfect using tsmuxer (although I haven't tried the latest) Ethernet is definitely too slow, you'll need a usb drive attached (this is my main frustration) Yep it will lock up still, requires a power cycle, but the X700 has always been a bit prone to lockups anyway (for me at least)....

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I’m thinking of picking up a x700 to use instead of various android device(s) temporarily until mkv playback is possible fully without compromises (color accuracy/audio output). Could anyone confirm if the below that I’ve tried to gather from past posts is (still) correct please? DV playback is poss...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi. Sorry to ask for help in my first post, but after trawling through this (awesome and very long) thread, I haven't been able to find steps that work for me… Is there any way to convert a STDL MKV file with Dolby Vision into something the LG C8 will play with Dolby Vision? I looked at the test fi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
My 2nd question is thus, are FEL to MEL conversions played by a TV's onboard player known to be any more or less accurate in playback than a straight FEL .mkv via the Shield at this point? The MEL conversion played backed on the TV will be more accurate than the playback of the FEL file via the Shi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi guys, just got the new lg cx. it's still good follow the instructions in the begin #1 of this thread ? ac3 + mp4 method (works well with my c8). thanks Afraid not. Dual layer playback in mp4 method on CX was removed / never even existed on CX to begin with. We ran some tests a few weeks ago: htt...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
using the v0.0.4_BETA_TEST_17102020 method for movies with truehd audio seems to work for now. It is a much longer process than v0.0.4_GAMMA_07112020 but no audio delay issues with truehd audio. Yeah, but if you need a mkv at the end, I found with quite a few titles that the Dolby vision layers / d...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Did you verify that 24fps isn’t actually 23.976? Wouldn’t put it past Apple not explicitly writing out 23.976fps to avoid what that might do to the ui/simplicity.Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 1:17 pmIn this app u can select a variety of FPS but still no 23.976

I've reread this entire thread and still couldn't find it. I assume your vague answer refers to the Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux thread. 244 Pages 3652 Posts at the moment. Sry but I have to say your answer doesn't help me at all. After quite some digging I think i finally found it. yu...
