Re: SDF update November 2025
Before you do anything, look inside the dump. When I had one, the file inside was 4MB. They just compress really well. Oh, yes, I did that and I found a file "dump_info_PIONEER_BD-RW___BDR-X12_1.07_AFDL000137WL.tar" which is 3Kb. I was expecting a "dump_full_XXXXX" file but it s...

Re: AACS 82 disc dump New Order Low-Life
You should email those dumps to svq@makemkv.com so a key can be created for MakeMKV's built in hashed key mechanism. A few days after emailing the dump, try the disc again and if a key is available, MakeMKV will download it automatically in the background. There is a separate second decryption mecha...

Re: SDF update November 2025
When I connect it with the new SDF drives, MakeMKV keeps saying there's no SDF input for the drive and generates a dump file. I've sent the file to support@makemkv.com, but the file size is smaller than 1KB. Shouldn't it be larger? https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=187311#p187311 In t...

Re: Ronin rips with Directors commentary
blu-ray.com suggests ( https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ronin-4K-Blu-ray/316415/ ) that Ronin (1998) has DTS audio. I don't know what your playback setup is, but by default Windows Media Player does not have the codecs to decode and playback DTS audio. It can, however, play Dolby Digital AC-3 audio an...

Re: PIONEER BD-RW BDR-212U - flashed - Not ripping newest UHD
As has always been the case, email the dump file to svq@makemkv.com. A hashed key will eventually be produced and MakeMKV will download it as necessary. UHD FAQ The Public KeyDB is an optional alternative source of decryption keys for MakeMKV. Submitting dumps for it is optional as well. I know they...

Re: Blooming on Macbook Pro with HDR files
Assuming you have an Apple Silicon era MacBook Pro, the display is a mini-LED backlight setup with something like 10,000 zones. The performance in general is pretty good. https://www.techspot.com/review/2365-apple-macbook-pro-xdr-display/ As flojo points out, however, the only way to truly eliminate...

Re: Arrow Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy set "This disc uses newer version of AACS protection"
If you want to try the public keyDB, download it and unzip it. The link is in the first post of the Public KeyDB Disc Submission thread. Then put that file in MakeMKV's data directory. The IO tab in MakeMKV's preferences lists where that is on your system. Restart MakeMKV and try to rip your disc. I...

Re: Arrow Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy set "This disc uses newer version of AACS protection"
At the moment, MakeMKV does not natively support AACS v82 blu-rays. You should email those dumps to svq@makemkv.com so a key can be created for MakeMKV's built in hashed key mechanism. Re: Noob here. Question about BDR-UD03D
1. I've been reading that not all enclosures support flashing. And I run the risk of bricking if I try to flash. Is there a way to safely find out if the enclosure will support flashing? The sticker on the back says "SUPER SLIM DRIVE-USB3.0. MODEL NO: ODP95-SU3". Not sure if that is hel...

Re: Dumb newbie question
I presume the video wasn't supposed to be dark green? Most UHDs use a different colorspace than a regular blu-ray. If you play a UHD on equipment that doesn't know what to do with larger colorspace it often looks weird. If that's what's happening in your case, you'll have to tone map the UHD into th...

Re: Full Backup playback
What do you hope to gain by playing the backups instead of .mkv files?
When MakeMKV produces a .mkv file all it is doing is repackaging a title into a single file. It is not compressing or changing the quality.

Re: Asus SBW-06D5H-U - Stopped Working
I wonder, did MakeMKV produce a firmware dump file? If it did, it would be in the MakeMKV data directory. The General tab of MakeMKV's preferences lists the location of the data directory.
