Re: My Synology DS1019+ NAS Has Died
I'm sorry your NAS has died. Plex has this concept of Direct Play and Direct Stream . The short summary is if your Plex client (in your case presumably the NVIDIA Shield connected to your TV) can directly play the file hosted on your Plex, then the Plex server doesn't have to manipulate the file in ...

Re: New to ripping/burning, need help
Pioneer drives are considered the best for actually burning discs, especially if you're going to burn two layer BD50 discs. As Marty said, most of my 4K UHDs are larger than 50GB. Even just the movie with no extras is bigger than 50GB. You'll need to figure out how to transcode them down to a smalle...

Re: A series I bought says Zone 4 but not all play
These must be DVDs if they're region code 4. The region code system used on blu-rays is simpler and there are only 3 regions. I would expect your LibreDrive enabled optical drive to be able to go around the region coding on the disc. (And indeed it can since at least some of the discs could be rippe...

Re: Dial M For Murder Blu Ray Rip
Do you have a different optical drive you can try the disc in? It is remarkable how often the same disc in a different drive produces different results. It is unlikely to work, buy you could also try to make a decrypted backup of the disc. On the first screen of MakeMKV, in the row of icons along th...

Re: Where can I buy legitimate copies of tv shows?
I'm in the UK so not sure if they'll be available to you. But the two I mostly use is Musicmagpie and World of Books. Although the seasons available are always random. I might get seasons 2 and 5 today but have to wait a year to get season 1. Sometimes that's from general availability and others fr...

002003:0000 Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00069.m2ts' at offset '21040005120' Errors like that indicate the optical drive was unable to correctly read a spot on the disc. Often this is because the disc is dirty. The standard advice i...

Does your MakeMKV log show anything when you're ripping a Back to the Future movie?
Is the behavior the same if you try different playback software?

Re: New to MakeMKV and running into a very bizarre series of errors.
Are you using your drive and MakeMKV on your TrueNAS box?
What happens if you plug your LG WP50NB40 into a plain Windows (or Mac) box and run MakeMKV there? No VM or anything like that.

Re: Hash Check Issue
Blu-rays and 4K UHDs have as part of their specification something called the content hash table. You can think of this as checksum data about the contents of the disc. MakeMKV uses it to verify that the optical drive is correctly reading the data from the optical disc. If MakeMKV sees that some of ...

Re: Hash Check Issue
I assume you're using the Pioneer BDR-212U in some kind of external enclosure? How is it powered? Errors like this: 002003:0000 Error 'OS error - (ipc/send) invalid destination port' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00003.m2ts' at offset '316145664' usually mean the drive doesn't have enough pow...

Re: Accidentally flashed LG WH16NS40 with LG BP50NB40 firmware
As I understand it, in order to use the recover mode of the SDFtool , you have to select two firmwares before you hit the flash button. First you have the select the wrong firmware that you accidentally put on the drive. Then you have to select the right firmware you want to flash to. Then you hit s...

Re: MKV newb needs help
dvdcompare.net says most versions Enter the Ninja only have DTS audio. Is that what your copy has? Can your playback software play DTS audio? I don't think Windows Media Player can play DTS by default. VLC should be able to play DTS.
