Re: Warum habe ich keine Menüs und Untertitel?
If my translation is correct, what you're talking about is called Forced Subtitles. There are several threads on this topic worth reading. Subtitles for Dummies, or At Least Newbies Again, selection of languages? How do you make Subtitles selectable during playback? I have only ripped the English tr...

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux
If you need a valid private_data.tar file, at the bottom of the first post of the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide, you'll find a link to one. It is a few years old at this point, but if that's the only thing standing in your way, it might be enough to get started.

Re: Getting registration code on a Mac
If I search my email for "makemkv", I find the receipt containing the license key for when I purchased MakeMKV.
If you click MakeMKV -> About MakeMKV, what does it say for license type?

Re: Verbatim not reading Blurays
Most blu-ray drives have two different lasers in them. One is for CDs and DVDs. The other is for blu-rays and UHDs. Usually, when only one category of discs work in a drive that means the other laser is dead. In your case if the blu-ray laser works only rarely, it might be the case that the optics f...

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Dump Submitted
I've uploaded the dump file as well. I was just wanted to verify the exact location I should put the KEYDB.cfg file. Where did you upload your dump file to, please? I cannot see it here... Although it would only be interesting if not the FF70 variant. I sent the dump file to the email address you r...

Re: Episodes out of order when ripping a TV Show
MKVToolNix is the tool you're thinking of. And, yeah, maybe. You'd still have to name the resulting files correctly. If the TV Show in question is on blu-ray, if you find a Play-All title on the disc, it will undoubtedly have a segment map that is the ordered list of episodes on the disc. For exampl...

Is the minimum title length setting (MakeMKV's preferences, Video tab) set too high?
Do you see MakeMKV skipping the title you want in the log?

Re: Episodes out of order when ripping a TV Show
MakeMKV doesn't really know anything about the contents of a disc. It just knows what it can from reading the structure of the disc. The _t04 or whatever that is appended on the end is just something MakeMKV does to try to make every title on the disc unique. It appends that incrementing item based ...

Re: Do i need to update my old BH16NS40 drive to play/backup this disc?
Does the problematic disc have AACS v82 encryption? If so, eventually MakeMKV will support it.
If you got another drive that supported LibreDrive, you could play it now.

Re: LG WH16NS40 with drive platform MT1939
A drive with the MT1939 platform can't be upgraded to support UHD. You'll need a drive with the MT1959 platform or one of the supported Pioneer drives. The easiest way to get a Pioneer drive is from one of the sellers on this forum. Asmcom is in Ireland and is the typical seller for Europeans. They ...

Re: Internal/External drive for DVD only
In my view, if you're going to buy a new drive, you might as well get one that supports ripping UHDs. If you really don't need that level of functionality, you might try looking in your closet for an old optical drive or trying to find a really cheap used drive. MakeMKV works with most (though not a...

Re: If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here first!
Is there any success using polishing methods to correct problematic micro scratches on blu-rays? Did the obvious cleaning and I have one or two discs (out of many the ripped fine), that are having read errors from a very specific sector that is likely tied to these almost imperceptible blemishes. I...

Re: The Taste of Things - error? Help?
Even brand new, fresh-out-of-the-wrapper discs can sometimes benefit from a cleaning. There is either some leftover lubricant from the manufacturing process or deposits from the plastic case off-gassing. Both of these are almost invisible to the naked eye but make life harder for the optical drive.
