Re: BU40N issues
On Linux, BU40N drives work better on the 1.00 firmware.

Re: Small Soldiers 4K
Presumably your MakeMKV produced a dump file. If it is named differently than the name posted by the OP then you also need to submit your dump as described since your copy of the disc requires a different key.

Re: MPEG-2 Blu-ray extras lose 16:9 aspect ratio after MakeMKV remux (DAR becomes 1:1)
I've seen people mention having a problem like this, but usually in the context of a DVD not a blu-ray.

I don't know if it is the intended behavior, but it seems relatively easy to correct after-the-fact with MKVToolNix.

Re: Small Soldiers 4K
You need to email those dump files to svq@makemkv.com. Eventually hashed keys will be produced so MakeMKV can decrypt them. See the UHD FAQ . Additionally, the second key mechanism MakeMKV supports, the public keyDB , might already have the necessary keys. If not, the dumps can be submitted there as...

Re: Is my BD-RE WH14NS40 MT1939 Firmware Downgradable?
The MT1939 platform is too old to support 4K UHDs. If you try to flash it, you'll brick the drive.
It should work fine for ripping DVDs and regular blu-rays though.

What is the name of the dump files you submitted? Posting that info lets others know if they've got the same or different dumps they also need to submit.noonespecific wrote: ↑Tue Feb 24, 2026 2:45 amJust what the topic says. I submitted dumps for all 3 Infernal affairs movies from the recent Umbrella 4k release

Re: HK download never finishes on Mac Studio
I have no idea. Often people have an ISP or firewall that is blocking the connection to the HK server, which is usually in Russia. But you said you have other Macs that work and I have presumed they're on the same network as your new Mac Studio so that's likely not the problem. Your optical drives o...

Re: Hit a wall with Slimline Flasher. OmniDrive bundle?
Did you read the first post in the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide thread?
It has links to the necessary firmware for a BU40N and to the SDFtool Flasher which makes it pretty easy to do on Windows.

Re: [Feature request] Ripping Blu-rays ignoring PLAYLIST folder
I don't have that box set. Out of curiosity, are there .mpls files defining each episode? Did MakeMKV throw them out because it thought they were duplicates?

Re: HK download never finishes on Mac Studio
Yes, it does, like I said I can rip Blu-rays, no issue, so MKV has full right permission. It doesn’t matter what drive I try to rip to, being these are external drives, 4K just will not allow the HK file to finish downloading. That being said, I did have one 4K disc after a long wait finish the HK ...

Re: „No Disc inserted“ shutter island (DE)
You can try gently cleaning the disc. I often have to clean even brand-new discs to get them to work properly. You can also try cleaning the optics of your drive. Use a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the laser optics. Dry with a clean microfiber cloth. Don't let it air dry. Do thi...

Re: Episodes not appearing (assumed fake titles)
Hi there, I'm having an issue with 1 out of a boxset of 5 DVDs, there are 3 episodes on the DVD, I can navigate to them and play each episode by running the DVD in DVD player, however MakeMKV, when accessing the DVD only provides 1 episode to convert, in the log it says; Title #3 was added (7 cell(...
