Re: "Fake playlist" protection - help needed
Is a fake list for example a disk that shows way more titles than actual episodes and they all appear the same?
I've never run across a TV show with fake playlists, but there certainly could be some. In the examples of movies I've come across, there are often more than 100 playlists that all ...

Re: DVD's audio?
Well, if there is PCM audio in the .mkv file then there is audio in the file. I'm pretty sure VLC can play .mkv files with PCM audio.
Ripping the disc with MakeMKV should get you past the copy protection on the disc.
I'm not sure why you can't hear any audio when you play the .mkv file? If there ...

I show the most recent post from the admin was November 23, 2025 when look under Mike Admin's posts.
So we aren't terribly far off from a year now since the admin has posted if what I am seeing is correct. Perhaps a bit worrisome.
As Billycar11 suggested, Mike was most recently on the forum ...

I wonder if you're missing the sdf.bin file? Or some other important file?
The first post mentions you're on a Mac. If you look in Macintosh HD/Users/<your username>/Library/MakeMKV what's in there?

Re: Libredrive enabled 'out-of-the-box' on a purchased drive
So, my question is: Is there some kind of feature on a 4K Blu-ray disc that automatically sets the player video output to BT709/SDR if no HDR capable display is detected?
No. A 4K UHD has whatever data is on it. Usually this is HEVC encoded 4K video in the BT.2020 colorspace and one of the ...

In this thread (https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41671) where someone else has a BP55EB40, MartyMcNuts points to the procedure as shown via the gif in the SDFtool Flasher thread. It is multi-step flashing process which often confuses people.

If you read the first post on Asmcom's thread ( https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19387 ) he talks about BU40Ns. I think he's even got some for sale for a reasonably price currently, which is not always the case.

Re: DVD's audio?
MediaInfo is a handy tool to show details about what's actually in a .mkv file.
Does it say there are audio tracks in the .mkv file or not?
If there are audio tracks, are they DTS audio?
If they are, can your player properly decode DTS audio? By default, Windows Media Player can not do it. This ...

Re: Is MakeMKV a reliable way of detecting playback issues?
My experience is different than Sayaka's. A common post on this forum is "MakeMKV won't rip my disc but it plays fine in my blu-ray player." Personally, I don't think I've ever ended up with a clean rip that resulted in playback errors when playing the rip.
