Looks like there may be discs out there with different AACS files. Mine is "MKB20_v77_MARVEL_STUDIOS'_THE_FANTASTIC_FOUR-_FIRST_STEPS_-_ULTRA_HD_7698.tgz" whereas the one submitted ends in FA04. Not sure if that makes a difference, but I can't currently rip mine and I just added the newes...
And my BU40 is a ASUS BW-16D1HT, not LG. ASUS does not actually manufacture optical drives. They do, however, rebrand other optical drives and put their own firmware on them. Some older ASUS drives were rebranded Pioneer drives. Most often ASUS drives are rebranded LG drives. An ASUS BW-16D1HT is t...
Yes I read those and yes I seen that they have the same movie title but they do not have the same dump file. So I won't post here anymore as far as my dumps that way nobody has to worry about me making a post I apologize. It was not my intent you make you feel badly, only to lightheartedly point ou...
I have yet to figure out good settings for similar quality high-bitrate h.265, but would like to in order to get hardware decoding for 10-bit (which greatly helps avoid introducing banding); all I've figured out is that I need to disable SAO to keep the encoder from blurring the heck out of things....

In the years to come, h.265 compressed video might not be the best way to have your files. Why would you say that? Surely, it's the "new" standard? h.265 is fairly well supported these days. I would say the 'new' standard is AV1 , which is not well supported yet. However, Netflix, YouTube...
i tried a 3rd time and it baited me, got to 5 seconds left and then said "Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading 'DVD+R-DL TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224GB SB00 S1C26YDH200SNJ' at offset '3977388032'" That error usually indicates that the drive was unabl...
The third line of your drive information says: Current profile: DVD-ROM Which is what made me wonder if the hardware was DVD only. Assuming the drive is a slim drive where either the lid lifts up to allow a disc to be inserted or a tray ejects for the disc, you should be able to see the laser assemb...
