On the first screen of MakeMKV, click the icon of the yellow folder with the green arrow. Make sure the decrypt box is unchecked.

There's certainly something about that disc that your optical drive doesn't like. If you want to copy the whole disc to your drive, using MakeMKV's backup function is the best way to do that. Do different players show similar corruption? By that I mean does VLC and MPV (or whatever your favorite players are) both show a corrupted file?
