Re: Program Doesn't Read the Episode Titles in Some Discs
I don't have any specific ideas regarding the problematic discs you describe. However, MakeMKV has various DVD Opening Modes that you can try.

Re: Is my LG WH14NS40 too old to work?
If you look at the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide the requirements at the top show that the platform must be MT1959.
If you want to rip UHDs you're going to need a different drive.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Both the 1.3.6 and the 1.3.5 versions of the Flasher will not download. I have tried both on my mac and my PC. It downloads all of the bytes, but never completes and complains about check internet connectivity. Sometimes it shows a download_repair.htm document. The version prior to that downloads j...

Re: Can I transfer a purchased key to a new pc?
Just be sure not to lose the email with your key in it. When you get the new machine, download MakeMKV and input your key. It'll work like you expect it to.

Re: What is the deal with the KEY?
I DEMAND that a key that actually works be posted in this thread ASAP. Several months ago I was ripping TV shows to put on Plex and just found out that I accidentally ripped one episode twice with one copy of the episode mislabled as the episode I misssed. People really do shock me sometimes. You g...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Hi Gents, Another Newbie to MakeMKV and the world of Flashing a Blu-ray Writer to make it read UHD. So here's the story. I've been contemplating the move ever since Redfox / Slysoft failed (again) leaving a gap in my capabilities. I primarily rip Concerts that I buy, so I can take them to the Famil...

Re: FURIOSA_A_MAD_MAX_SAGA 'MEDIUM ERROR: L- EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' with 2 different discs at exact same offset
MakeMKV will tell you how many layers a disc is. After you put in the disc and let MakeMKV read it (on MakeMKV's first screen), the information on the right will include how much data is on the disc and how many layers. In any case, this error Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERRO...

Re: Valerian 4K: SCSI eror Plays on 4K Player
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is a triple layer disc… those are the hardest for any optical drive to rip.
Do you have a different drive you can try? In my experience, some drives just don't like some discs.

Re: MakeMKV & Handbrake
I make 1080p versions of movies where I have the 4K disc but not a regular blu-ray. They can look pretty good… it just depends on your settings in Handbrake of course. By downsampling a 4K to 1080p, you can end up with a file about the same size as if you were encoding a regular blu-ray. It'll look ...

Re: License key not received
I paid for my key a couple of weeks ago but have still not received it. Admin please respond. From reading the forum, it seems like PayPro Global automatically initiated a refund to everyone who didn't get their key after ordering at the beginning of the month. If that didn't happen for you, I sugg...

Re: AACS v82 dump_HTB0211
Emailing the dump file to svq@makemkv.com is the correct thing to do. It will be processed and eventually made available as a hashed key . There is a separate process called the Public KeyDB. If you make the dump file available for download on the internet somewhere and post a link, they can add a k...

Re: FURIOSA_A_MAD_MAX_SAGA 'MEDIUM ERROR: L- EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' with 2 different discs at exact same offset
That's a triple layer disc. Is the drive struggling at the layer break? That might explain why it fails at the same offset on two discs.
Can the drive rip other triple-layer 4K UHDs?

Re: My Blu-ray Remux Journey: 5,500 Titles, 210TB, and What I Learned
I'm curious how you managed the 210TB of storage. A big NAS? Up to 8 discs in a NAS or even as direct attached storage seems relatively easy. Going beyond 8 discs seems cost and order of magnitude more money.
