Re: AACS v82 Dump - Jackie Brown [IMPRINT]
Unable to rip the AU Jackie Brown blu-ray. Dump attached. Thanks :) You should email the dump to svq@makemkv.com so a key can be created for MakeMKV's built in hashed key mechanism. A few days after emailing the dump, try the disc again and if a key is available, MakeMKV will download it automatica...

Re: Newb question on choosing titles to extract
If you also rip the disc's extras into their own .mkv files, things like Plex have a way to put those items with a movie and show them to you in the user interface so you can easily watch that stuff. https://support.plex.tv/articles/local-files-for-trailers-and-extras/ https://jellyfin.org/docs/gene...

Re: Laser Disc Digitizing
Indeed. For a very small subset of movies the best available release is still laser disc. https://letterboxd.com/michaelhutchins/list/the-criterion-collection-laserdisc-titles/ Some collectors like to go deep down the rabbit hole. While a Domesday Duplicator is not for me (although I would like a bl...

Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U
It appears, based on the info below, that my BW-16D1X-U has a Pioneer drive inside and that my only option is to rely on the good graces of @coopervid, and hope he takes pity on me. Coopervid will almost assuredly help you out. Also, you can email Billycar11 ( https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewto...

Re: MakeMKV/VLC Blu-ray Playback Intigration on Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS
I can't help you with your linux installation. I can, however, suggest that if you first make a decrypted backup (icon of folder with green arrow on the first screen of MakeMKV) of a blu-ray first and then use MakeMKV to create .mkv files from the backup… you can use the player of your choice to pla...

You should email the dump to svq@makemkv.com so a key can be created for MakeMKV's built in hashed key mechanism. A few days after emailing the dump, try the disc again and if a key is available, MakeMKV will download it automatically in the background. There is a separate second decryption mechanis...

Have you power cycled the drive?
I've seen a couple of other people post on the forum with similar errors. I'm not sure what they mean.

Re: SBW-06D5H-U unable to backup a Blu-ray Disc
Are you trying to rip commercial blu-rays or burned discs? The label of 'BDROM' in the Disc Information section of the picture you posted caught my eye as being unusual.
I'm not certain what the error message you highlighted really means.

You could try gently cleaning the disc.

Re: USB Drive with Blu-ray disk stuck on "Disk is being loaded"
On Linux, BU40N drives often work better on 1.00 firmware. I do not know if that will solve your problem in this case.

Does MakeMKV get stuck 'loading' on every disc or just one or two discs?

Re: Struggling to open UHD discs on BU40N
Hey all... this is my first time around in attempting to rip 4K Blu-ray's and I have purchased a verbatim 43888 for my 2024 MacBook Pro with macOS 26. I've done my best to follow all the instructions and will always essentially where I've landed and seems like it has stalled out. Any hints or chips...

I'm not an expert on this topic, but I think that drive is essentially a BP50NB40. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=183019#p183019

Re: New Blu Rays that won't read (UK)
At the moment, MakeMKV does not natively support AACS v82 blu-rays. You should email those dumps to svq@makemkv.com so a key can be created for MakeMKV's built in hashed key mechanism. A few days after emailing the dump, try the disc again and if a key is available, MakeMKV will download it automati...

Re: Pioneer BDR-XD08B on Amazon
had to send them back because I couldn't rip a BD I had previously successfully ripped with one of my older drives with them (I didn't bother with trying a CD). The drives would just spin with nothing happening. Are you sure you have restarted them (plugged off and then back) after SDF.bin update? ...
