Re: Second Language Subtitles

Maybe this one is what you're talking about: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Shogun-Blu-ray/103521/ Here's the entry for it at DVDCompare: https://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=28217 Both of those sources indicate there's several languages of subtitles, but seemingly only the single Eng...

Re: Windows: Can't change the region of any Blu-ray drive

I seem to recall there's a way to change the region in VLC software, probably in the preferences somewhere. Unfortunately, I rarely use VLC so can't point you directly to it.

Re: The volume key is unknown for all discs

I think the OP is doing regular blu-rays. Shouldn't need to download any keys for that, right? It should just work.

I wonder if the ISOs of blu-rays made with multiMAN is somehow not doing the right thing?

I don't have any experience with using a PS3 or multiMAN.

Re: MakeMKV fails without additional info in log

I made a backup of the disc with MakeMKV and I opened the resulting .iso image with MakeMKV. Exactly the same structure becomes visible as when opening the disc directly, including the wrong duration of the last episode. Ripping the pertained episode results in the same error at the same location. ...

The first post in this thread is maintained can has instructions, links, and details:

Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide

It is information dense, so you might have to read it more than once.

Re: Sometimes cannot open titles from backups?

Strictly speaking, you don't have to make a decrypted backup. When you open the backup in MakeMKV later, the decryption can happen then. However, for 4K UHDs, a hashed key downloaded from a server on the internet is required to decrypt the disc or backup. If a key isn't available either because a ke...

Hopefully MakeMKV's author, Mike, will see your post.

Out of curiosity, can you make a backup for the DVD disc in question?

Re: Aliens 4K (Ultimate Collector Edition)

Do you have a different drive you can try? Often when I have a disc that doesn't work in a drive I get different results with the same disc in a different drive.

Re: 'Save Selected Titles' button greyed out/not clickable

If you're on the first screen in MakeMKV and you have a disc in the drive, you have to click the big disc icon to get to the title selection screen where the 'Save Selected Titles' button will be active.

Re: Easy way to get titles in order on TV series...

In the United States, it is the Digital Millennium Copyright Act from 1998 that makes it illegal to break DRM regardless of wether you're infringing on copyright or not. CDs do not have DRM and it is perfectly legal to create a CDDB. DVDs, blu-rays, and UHDs all have DRM. Hosting something similar f...

Re: NLMeans too slow in Handbrake?? Try this!

NLMeans is a denoise filter in Handbrake. I almost never mess with that since I'm not opposed to film grain. Maybe I'm too old and/or my eyesight it too bad. :) When I think about getting to a smaller file size, a denoise filter does not come to mind. I find that transcoding a 1080p blu-ray rip, fo...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023

Thanks for the reply. I did see that post, but I couldn't find the 3.10 .bin file. Any idea where it is? It didn't come with the .zip file that contained the SDFtool Flasher.exe and 3.02 .bin files. It is in the first post. There's a section titled "Unlocked Flashers, Downgrade Enabled Firmwar...
