Yes. The Shield will play the file in DV, but it needs a DV capable player. Emby works, Kodi as well, but no experience myself, Plex is evil…. Also DV needs to be enabled in the settings.

Also when ripping a lot of times one has no chapters. So when they both are identical, length wise check if one has no chapters. Next time just choose the one that has chapters.

With the APK from yuse, I can play the DV mkvs on the shield and works like a charm. Hopefully exoplayer will be updated any time soon, so that Emby or other apps can use the DV version.
