I have ripped hundreds of blu-ray disks and have not found a good solution to this issue so I thought I'd post here to get the advice of people who are a lot smarter than I am!

Re: Is it possible to change the name of a drive?
Ya and I try to do that but thats not shown once you start a RIP so its still hard to identify. Would be a lot easer to make the display name slightly different.Billycar11 wrote: Sat Jun 12, 2021 2:57 am well in windows you just identify by the drive letter in singe drive mode

Is it possible to change the name of a drive?
Hey guys,
I have a few UHD drives that I use to rip blurays with. I flashed 2 of them with the same FW because it was the only recommended one on the downloads page. As a result they both show up as the same drive in the MakeMKV dropdown list. Is it possible to change and or choose the name of the ...

Re: LG WH16NS40 1.05 RMA Drive not flashing
I feel dumb. Thanks for clearing this up.
At this point do i need to downgrade the FW to something like 1.02 in order to rip 4K blurays or will the current FW do it?

Re: LG WH16NS40 1.05 RMA Drive not flashing
I just realized that this error message is popping up for the SDFTool.
Not sure if this has anything to do with the drive not flashing. Is there another flasher i could test? If so can you link me to it?

Re: Probably need to buy another drive...
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention in the OP that the drive needs to fit into an 5.25" bay.
I see that drive is slimmer than the standard 5.25" bay. Is there some sort of adaptor that it fits in to make that work?
What is the speed of the drive compared to the WH16 drives that i already ...

I appreciate the response. Thanks!Woodstock wrote: Wed Dec 02, 2020 2:49 pm If it completes successfully, there usually would be no reason to submit it.
MakeMKV will generate a .tgz file if the version of AACS is higher than any previous disk. And you can tell it to always generate a .tgz for disks with BD+ protection.

.TGZ Files for movies that complete successfully
Hey guys,
Just a quick question. I use MakeMKV all the time and want to provide as much info that would help improve the program as possible. I am familiar with the procedure of submitting the .tgz file to MakeMKV when a movie wont RIP (usually a UHD Disk) but occasionally MakeMKV will generate a ...
