If anyone is interested in a deal on a barely used AM6+ shoot me a message (I'm based in the US). My days of being obsessed with DV playback have long past

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Just a heads up in case you haven't heard: Our old and well hated friend the UGOOS AM6+ rises from the dead. With the latest CoreELEC 20.3 Nexus version, it finally supports proper Dolby Vision FEL decoding with HD audio passthrough. I just installed it on my device (I have the AM6b+), configured a...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Sorry to reply to you directly but would you able to confirm my question on profile 8 hybrids? I can't find a diffinitive answer and it seems like EVERYONE is encoding with profile 8 hybrid formats now. I'm not seeing ANY native profile 5 formats any longer :-/. Do you see this as an issue? This is...

Re: Playback full quality UHD MKVs
It does TrueHD Atmos. You aren't wrong about it not being a perfect device. There isn't one that exists, which is why many of us Z9X users use it with a Shield or ATV haha

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi guys, I read something about the new Apple TV 2022 outputs HDR10+ for DV content streaming on Samsung TV (S95B). Does anyone know if it converts DV->HDR10+ on the fly or they just provide HDR10+ source? Test file: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1FwwiVY7hUpWt1OmMpLguALPs8NfU53Ee HDR10+ so...

Re: Is ripping 4K Blu Rays Practical?
Like I said, I would only be interested in internal drives for my PC. I have a true, full size PC tower that has plenty of hard drive bays inside it. I don't want to use an external have drive when I can utilize the space inside my PC. I have the Phantek Enthoo Pro, Tempered Glass case. If you are ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Atmos sound and dolby Vision (Mel and fel) is working now on my ugoos AM6 plus box in kodi. you are not telling us the whole truth :D . Out of about 20 DV-FEL (mkv 7.06), I can watch 2-3 movies without critical problems, the others have frequent problems with picture scattering and freezing. Not to...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hmm OK strange, I only have some audio dropouts from time to time, that's all. But like I said they are also on the shield right now. You have installed the nightly version ? Maybe the TV matters ? I'm using Sony a90j but directly connected to my receiver of my Ht-a9 Soundsystem. But OK, I will che...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Yeah, I tried the nexus build and it's actually worse for me as the audio never gets in sync. And getting the FEL videos to kick off is worse as well as I have to open up the task menu every time just to get them to start, which they will in the bottom right corner. Then I have to re-open Kodi to br...

Atmos sound and dolby Vision (Mel and fel) is working now on my ugoos AM6 plus box in kodi. But that error that you've to start a movie sometimes still exist. But that horrible stutter from a long time ago is gone I have to do some more testing Edit im getting some short sound dropouts with dolby t...

Re: Thoughts on Building new PC to rip "BluRays (4K)"
I thought I'd throw my $0.02 in to this conversation... At this point, you may actually find it cheaper to buy more storage space as opposed to encoding. It sounds somewhat crazy but if you run the numbers using average electricity costs, the $/kwh power usage over 4 - 12 hours of encoding is great...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Kind of surprised about the Kodi results. Why do you need both Plex and Kodi though? I ideally want kodi to run properly as I prefer to have my files on a HDD rather than set up a server. Also the problem with plex is that the PGS subtitles don't work have to find .srt subtitles. Basically I want 1...
