Re: Can't find any usable optical drives

Where is this SERVICE? What is it called?

Is it one of the .EXE files in the folder?

Re: Cannot find any usable optical drive.

D00zah,

Thank You for those.... I found a way - see my posting above. That worked for me....but, your information is good as well.

Now - if the MakeMKV folks would respond about my previous license.

Re: Cannot find any usable optical drive.

ALL --- I have fixed this: MakeMKV_FIXED.png Here is how I did it (Windows 10 Pro / Build 2004 - 64-bit): 1. Find the ICON in the START MENU (PROGRAMS LIST). 2. Right-Mouse button click. Choose MORE >> OPEN FILE LOCATION. 3. When EXPLORER opens to the SHORTCUT (see image): MakeMKV_Shortcut.png 4. Ri...

Re: Cannot find any usable optical drive.

Woodstock, Thanks for the link. I had already looked at that. Was not helpful. I see nothing which tells me HOW TO GRANT MakeMKV access. I do not get a prompt from the OS - to allow access. I also find it  :( FRUSTRATING :!: that no-one from MakeMKV is responding to my request for REGISTRATION...

BD-RE Drive not seen - WH14NS40

I have just built a NEW Home Theatre PC. For years I used one which was running XBMC on Windows 8.1. The motherboard died, and I finally built a new one - installed the Windows 8.1 which was on it - then upgraded it to Windows 10. All hardware - HDDs and BD-RE drive retained, only MB, RAM, CPU is ne...

Re: 32-bit vs 64-bit MakeMKV

Another UPDATE -- Apparently it is something in MakeMKV :( - as I downloaded and installed LEAWO BLU-RAY PLAYER - and it has no problem using the DRIVE (see image). :!: Still waiting on a response from MAKEMKV themselves - as well as their SALES DEPT to recover my old registration/purchase. :!: Leaw...

Re: 32-bit vs 64-bit MakeMKV

Woodstock.... Thanks for that, but I am not sure that is it. Some of the other stuff I have been reading on PLEX forums and others - state that Windows 10 cannot 'natively' play DVDs and BRs. I also find it VERY ODD that MakeMKV thinks there is no DVD drive in the computer. This VERY SAME PC (well n...

Re: 32-bit vs 64-bit MakeMKV

Thank You - Woodstock (one of my favorite Peanuts characters).... :-) Great info - but now I see another problem. The system where I installed it - says it cannot find a USABLE DRIVE. I find this strange, as I can play DVDs and BRs on it using the Drive. Attaching images from the HARDWARE INFO: Medi...

32-bit vs 64-bit MakeMKV

New to the software....looks like EXACTLY what I have been needing to RIP my BluRays (and maybe DVDs) to MKV for my new PLEX server. Forgive me as to signature, not yet configured. I have 3 questions: 1) I installed the software, and noticed that it installed the x86 folder. Strange that most all in...
