Does "un-crippling" the drive by flashing to one of these firmwares actually make the drive better, in all aspects?
For instance, writing and reading data blue ray dvds? and so forth?

I don't really use makemkv, however, I guess I can start. Just looking to take all restrictions off the drive and have it operate at full capacity and with all it's capabilities unlocked.

Hi all, I'm new (obvious, right?) So, I just picked up my LG WH14NS40 with (of course) 1.04. I'd like to have an un-crippled blue ray writer/reader and of course 1.04 won't cut it. Was trying to go back to WH14NS40 1.02 but it doesn't allow me to do it (Write DRAM NG message) so I'm assuming I need ...
