I know these posts are currently moderated, so my other reply didn't go through.
If I start it with "run as administrator"( https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=20523 ) it is able to see my Drive again.
I don't think I ever did that in the past, but it's more than an acceptable option ...

Yeah I saw the ransomware thing, it's already Off. I'll try the full power down thing.
It is also an externally attached drive, as I don't have space for an internal direct attached SATA drive any more.

MakeMKV no longer finds my BluRayDrive
I ripped several of my BluRay disks, and then suddenly it can no longer detect the drive.
