Re: So I purchased a used SH-B123 Blu-Ray drive

No idea. Probably a couple hundred. Check your local stores or Amazon. Well I'll be returning that drive to the ebay seller. On Amazon, don't have a lot of results and 90% of them look like cheap Chinese crap: https://tinyurl.com/msv32sf That being said, these 2 might be good, what do you think? ht...

Re: So I purchased a used SH-B123 Blu-Ray drive

You will be very hard pressed to find any internal drives these days. Apparently LG stopped manufacturing them around September last year. Pioneer even earlier. There are now also some fakes coming out of china. If you must have an internal, your best bet would probably be to get an external ASUS B...

Re: So I purchased a used SH-B123 Blu-Ray drive

Depends on where you are in the world and what you want. LG Blu-Ray drive (Internal if possible) and I'm in Canada. You will be very hard pressed to find any internal drives these days. Re: So I purchased a used SH-B123 Blu-Ray drive

Junk drive. Those old Samsung’s are often speed limited. Don’t buy a Samsung, Matshita or Panasonic optical drive. Stick with LG or Pioneer but don’t take too long as the world’s supply is dwindling fast! Verbatim’s can still be found easy enough and some models have a LG BU40N or Pioneer BDR-UD03 ...

Re: So I purchased a used SH-B123 Blu-Ray drive

After my LG bit the dust, I could not find any Blu-Ray drive at a decent price except for a Samsung SH-B123 on ebay ($120 CAD + taxes and S&H). While it works with MakeMVK to rip my Blu-Rays, it's very slow, read speed indicated anywhere between 1X and 2X and sometimes bellow 1X. A movies that ...

Re: Subtitles for foreign language only?

The problem is, they (almost) never use the forced flag . MakeMKV offers to look for you, but if they don't use the flag, you're sort of screwed. This is common on most disks. There will normally be two subtitle tracks per language offered by the audio portion. One is "all subtitles", and...

Re: Subtitles for foreign language only?

"Generally speaking", you will be looking for a track that is "forced" subtitles for the language you want. There IS a way to have forced subtitles within a track, but that is rarely used in my experience. If you look at the Star Wars videos in general, there will be TWO (someti...

Subtitles for foreign language only?

Hi there, It's been bothering me for a little while now, but even more now that I've purchased the Star Wars Blu-Ray collection from 2012 (before Disney killed the franchise). I don't want subs for English movies, but when there are foreign languages (Alien languages in the case of Star Wars), I wan...

Can't rip my Back to the Future Part 2 Blu-Ray Disc

I have the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Collection on Blu-Ray. I managed to rip part 1 and part 3 with the latest version of MakeMKV, but not part 2. I plays well in my cheap $50 Blu-Ray player, it just can't be ripped (the extras did rip however). I tried 3 times, same results. I have a paid...
