I tried to use Makemkv last night and it failed. After reading this thread I did not try again. Currently I am using Anydvd to rip to video. I am at 34% I started the rip process at at 11pm and it is now 9:30am. 0.42MB/s. Disc is bad. I gave up.... hit abort and the log file popped up with 658967 li...

Try the ASUS modified flasher instead of SDFTool.

What he said. I had the same issue as you using the SDFTool. I used the Asus modified flasher in Administrator mode and it flashed my new BU40N with 1.01 firmware to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934 firmware and it rips 4K just fine
