Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

RESET_9999 or someone else who might know.. I have a Sony A9G 77" OLED from 2019, i used to be into this discussion and DV development for like a year or two after getting the TV. Not so much anymore, so im trying to read up. As far as i can remember, this TV does NOT have player-led (might be ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Since it supports true tv-led, for cmv2.9 content it should be the same quality. I will do a direct comparison with the Shield, AppleTV, and X800m2 once I receive my Ugoos (early April, tracking says) For cmv4.0 content, on the other hand, the ugoos should be better because cmv2.9 hardware/content ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

yes it can and why wouldnt it? ( as long as the player is sending the information to the TV) The player-led bug is not related to the EL and it affects Dolby Vision without EL( profile 8 ) as well. Thank you, i wasnt sure if it would thats why i asked. What is the player-led bug? Havent been keepin...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Sooo, is there any box/player that can handle FEL correctly that also has ability to connect to a PLEX-server?
Landscape seems like theres a ton of alternatives but all fall short

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Spent some time with the Chromecast Google TV today with Plex. I confirmed that FEL is playing, as expected. Some mkv remuxes don’t seem to DV at all without manually switching audio tracks, because they start to direct stream instead of direct play due to audio codec limitations, and on this devic...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just got a Chromecast, and I confirm that it's a FEL DV capable device. The ending credits of Power rangers is bright white... FEL noise visible on test file as confirmed before. great player for my bedroom TV :) player-led and tv-led seem to be behaving strangely ... on my C8 OLED I'm only getting...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Looking back on the last few posts, I wonder if, among the devices on the market that run official versions of the major streaming apps, a device exists that is even as good as the ATV in terms of framerate matching, never mind better? Notwithstanding the lack of 24.000 support, the ATV auto-matche...

There is no reason to use player-led (LLDV) on LG
For Sony it is only option (except XH90)
i understand that.
what im saying is that, using player-led with an oppo for example, still makes use of dual-layer/single-layer-makemkv-files profile7, its just not "the best" as tv-led

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

But if you have a Sony Bravia TV with LLDV there is a dilemma :D : - Play it on BR player or clone with artefacts and muted colors - Play it on Shield TV Pro with richer but inaccurate colors (red push) and without EL - Play it on any device as HDR10 version with proper colors. I suggest Bravia own...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

there is some speculation that profile 7 MKVs arent really played in DV with the 2019 shield, the TV gets a DV signal but what is shown is maybe HDR10 only, have there been comparisons made to debunk this speculation?
