Re: 4K UHD - MKV - AppleTV 4K - Infuse 6 pro = my results
Very useful! I've been useing NFS and had an even slower connection, around 200 Mbps. That was fine for regular playback, even with 4k streams over a wired LAN, but any seeking never worked properly. I'm a professional IT guy but sometimes you don't see the forest for the trees and I never thought ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I always assumed the MKV might change given that there is currently no player support, so, for me I used the MKV rip as an intermediary to the TS files. I'm prepared to rerip again. Just to share: INFUSE 6 DOES play MKV. https://firecore.com/infuse Scroll to the bottom for file support: 3GP, AVI, A...

Re: 1.15.x crushes CPU
I’ve been running makemkv for years, and it’s generally been very light on CPU load—maybe a small fraction of one core. It’s very easy to do other compute-intensive activities while 1.14.7 is running. When I loaded 1.15.1 today, I saw that the load was way, way up; three copies running simultaneous...

Re: 4K UHD - MKV - AppleTV 4K - Infuse 6 pro = my results
Wanted to share the setup and my results: MakeMKV = 1.15 MKVToolNix GUI v44.0.4 (Domino)(64bit) LGWH16NS40 = FW 1.02 (thanks for the FORUMS help on this) Infuse 6 Pro (latest) (which has support of Atmos https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/217735707-Audio-Options-tvOS- ) Apple TV 4k (TVO...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
As Woodstock said and also, we do not condone piracy. YES, as Marty/Woodstock said.............. Buy the media, support the Artists, the Film Makers, the Crew, keep the studios receptive and motivated to creating UHD media in the first place as its the best quality one can get. Streaming will never...

Re: Ripping Dolby Vision + Atmos into MKV for Mac?
Again as these members have said, a quick search on google or even the forums provides a lot of good info. You DO have to take the time to read through it, take notes. I shared my experience with UHD, 4K apple tv and Infuse 6 pro https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21843 Included an em...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
We have no way of "making" an Atmos E-AC3 file. Huh? Extract Atmos metadata from TrueHD frame, decode TrueHD frame to LPCM, encode LPCM to eac3, add Atmos metadata to eac3 frame. This can even be done on the fly... Mike, Thanks for jumping in and course correcting the group knowledge here...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Genuinely don't know. My summary was outlining the work others have done to make this process drop dead simple. I wouldn't have a clue what tool could be used to replace what eac3to is doing or even if there is an alternative. On Linux I'd recommend trying wine and seeing if eac3to would run under ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
For those that are looking to make this work in the easiest way possible: 1) Rip to MKV with MakeMKV 2) eac3to titlename.mkv 2: titlename.thd+ac3 Note: titlename should be replaced with the actual name of the MKV 3) Add the MKV and the thd+ac3 track to TSMuxer 4) Remux to TS I've done this to a few...

Re: What do you use after makeMKV?
Hi I use Movavi Video Converter 2020 Premium and it's really fast (probably similar to your app). I haven't had issues with subtitles and I try to get the file size down. The file size is proportionate to the bitrate. The higher the bitrate the higher the file size. Action and CGI movies look bette...
