I figured it out in my case: I'd used a snap install via:
https://connectwww.com/how-to-install-m ... ter/61127/
After uninstalling, and reinstalling via unofficial PPA above, all is now well(-ish).

I have the same issue with a different model drive ("Failed to get full access to drive "HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N". Make sure that you either have write access to device "/dev/sr0", are member of "cdrom" group or have CAP_SYS_RAWIO enabled."). Note that 'groups' r...
