Re: Application failed to initialize OSX
Would be great to offer 1.55beta for download again until the problem is fixed.

Re: Application failed to initialize OSX
I downgraded to 1.54beta as I had another instance running on another Mac. With 1.54beta it works again. I cannot find downloads for previous versions too. Hopefully the bug with 1.5.6beta will be fixed soon. It seems to be a generic problem on Mac with 10.5 and 10.6 OS X. Please can this be fixed s...

Plans to provide mkv settings for ripping DVD/BD?
Are there any plans to provide some settings for ripping DVD/BD? E.g. reducing the bandwidth to 12000Mb/s during the processing of makemkv? I have to re-encode some files created by makemkv with Handbrake to decrease bandwidth. It would be great to do this on-the-fly when ripping the BD/DVD with mak...

Processing 3D blu-ray with makemkv
Samsung is starting to deliver 3d equipment (TV, BD-player and glasses).
Is it possible to process these 3d BD's with makemkv containing the 3d content within the mkv file?
If yes, is there a special player needed to play the 3d content?

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work
Is there any reason why these drives are only direct accessed and not OS access? Or do I misunderstand the log file? It's confusing. Drive is opened in OS access mode. The second message is about the disc that is opened in direct mode meaning you're opening a physical disc and not files on a hard d...

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work
Do you get faster speed if you copy "BDMV" folder to your hard drive in finder? It might be just a slow drive. I copied the folder to my hard drive and your are right, the speed is only around 6.8MB/s. But why this BD drive is sold as 4.8x read speed? My old 2x BD drive is really faster w...

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work
I used a 2x BD combo usb drive with my macmini and the rip speed for BD has been constantly 2x with makemkv (8.5MB/s). Now I bought an new 4.8x BD combo usb drive and the rip speed decreased for BD to 1.5-1.6MB/s. Very disappointing. In the message window below the drive initially is opened in OS ac...
