Re: Read Rate or Rip Speed
".... For some reason Anydvd bypass riplock but makemkv does not :3...." I also have a modified firmware on my Liteon I-HES208 that avoids the firmware riplock. And...like yourself..I found that AnyDVD seemed to utilize the unlocked the rip speed....but not MakeMKV. However, what I discov...

Re: conversion speed / execution time
I think it's actually due to the speed of your bluray drive. Please post here your findings so we can keep everything together.

Re: BD-ROM read speed
Even with encryption turned off, there didn't seem to be any noticeable speed increases. This was the worst disc to use do to the fact that it had many small files on it, but it's also what I used to benchmark with robocopy. However between myself and a colleague, we have never gone much higher then...

Re: BD-ROM read speed
Doing the exact steps listed below, I get a maximum speed of 4x and 17MB/s with the Lite-on drive. I have a screen shot at home, and I still want to run it with the encryption turn off too.

Re: BD-ROM read speed
Ok,
Now testing without AnyDVD. The pioneer is still rather slow. I got up to 12.1MB and took 18:44. The Liteon, on the other hand was incredible!!! 31.2MB/s and a copy time of 7:16.

Re: BD-ROM read speed
What is the rip speed if you simply copy files from drive to hdd? MakeMKV should process data as fast as drive can read it. Sorry for the delay,I understand what you are saying here. Doing file copies using robocopy, I average at 10.5MB/s. It took 21:38 to copy a 12.699GB file. I recently aquired a...

Re: BD-ROM read speed
Same issue with OP BDR-205 and slow rip speeds. This has been brought up a time before http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1063 No real answer though. I really like the simplicity of MakeMKV, but I also like my stuff to be efficient and if I wanted to rip at 4x, i would have spent ...

Re: Anyone using Pioner BDR-205 and getting slow speeds?
I too am having slow rip speeds with my Pioneer. These drives are supposedly not riplocked and when using DVDfab, I get speeds of up to 29MB/s. I'm using the latest firmware and have a quad core pc with raid0 ssd hard drives. My cpu is never pegged out either. TIA
