Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)
Why not just use "Append files" in MKVToolnix? There are ~4 seconds of black at the end of part 1 and ~2 seconds of black at the start of part 2. If you just merge the two together you'll have ~6 seconds of black in the middle of the movie. This more complicated technique removes the blac...

Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)
If you want a single MKV for each extended movie with a flawless scene transition between discs, follow this guide. Be prepared to have a lot of scratch disk for this, preferably on NVMe SSD :) Rip each extended disk to its own MKV, for example, LOTR1a.mkv and LOTR1b.mkv Drag Disc 1 into MkvToolnix...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Looks like it was a problem with TSMuxer version, I'm using nightly build now and the bluray structure created is now recognized by MakeMKV.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
I've tried creating BR structure with tsmuxer 2.6.12 but when I try to open with MakeMKV it says Failed to open disc.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Hi, I have lot of MKVs that I made in the past with MKVToolnix keeping Dolby Vision layer as a second track (in the hope it could be handled some day), I've tried with the latest version of MakeMKV but it doesn't recognize it, any ideas?

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
That's awesome LOL Now we need to get some detailed instructions on getting this set up in Kodi for now until things get more official with things like Plex. I think Plex uses FFmpeg for that part, I don't know if they can just add support to FFmpeg in their build without add to FFmpeg master, but ...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support
It's more than probable than FFmeg get also support soon, which is used in more platforms and players, the important thing is get the hardware licensed, from that perspective you have also other options; Amazon Fire Stick 4K, Apple TV 4K and of course any device using Android TV (which includes lot ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I've got it working. Thanks for your help! When do you think the Dolby Vision MKV standard will be finalised? What is your opinion on how long it will take for the softwares of LG, plex, kodi, etc to implement the changes allowing recognition of DV in a mkv container? Dolby has nothing to do here, ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Emby also confirmed that as soon as ExoPlayer updates they will too, so if you don't get soon for Plex you will have another option by using Emby. The current problem with Plex in NVidia Shield is they have serious problem with memory leaks, did you try to play a high bitrate MKV, like the latest Ak...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Tested the apk with Doctor Sleep and it works! What a feeling after so much time waiting for it! Atmos track and PGS subtitles also works, but looks like there is some memory leak or something because video starts to shutter after a while and any attempt of move the progress bar or fast forward ends...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Now to just get MKV playback and Kodi working, and everything will be perfect! kodi technically is ready to go, since once there's a stable exoplayer apk from yusesope's work available (or compile it yourself), you can just set kodi to play mkv's using that external player instead. It's true, I did...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Agreed with github! happy to do the compile/demo testing and review, but yusecope should get the ultimate pull-request credit from his repo :) Why dont you get it on github anyway ? :-) Ok, Ok...I will make my first pull request on GitHub :D Sunday I should have some free time. But first we need to...
